Quilting Decisions

It's Design Wall Monday, but there is nothing on my wall today...horrors!

I am trying to finish up Nabby's Dowry so I can start Pam's next Quilt Along guilt-free!
I already have the binding done and waiting, but am still trying to decide about how to quilt this treasure. The quilt is saying straight line walking foot design, but I am thinking that is too boring. I may have to give in and do the boring!
You can see lots of amazing design wall postings over at Patchwork Times.

I'm in the same boat. resisting the new SAL's until I finish the last ones with Lori Holt and Pam Buda! I put feathered wreaths in my Nabby's Dowry Blocks. Tension was off so I should un-sew them and do it again. That's why it hasn't been added to the "FINISHES", yet.

With a beautiful classic quilt like this, you could go either way, straight line quilting or curves that contrast with all the angles and straight lines in the pieced design. I wouldn't choose something I thought was "boring" ... because it would just take me longer to get started and get it quilted. Make it fun for you!

You may want to go back to the 'parade' posts and see how others quilted theirs for some ideas. You may not be happy with 'boring'.

My two cents: Do not settle for boring. If you aren't sure, wait until the right idea comes along . . .

When I see how you quilt yours, then maybe I will know what to do with mine! : )

think curves would look great on this, no to boring!

I am sorry but I have to disagree. What I see in this quilt are the four points of the compass. To me this quilt is very directional and it needs straight lines. It is not one to wander around if I dare say, but that is only my two pence. :)
With your great talent, no matter what you decide, you will make it beautiful.

Lots of possibilities and all would look great. I like the idea of straight line, but something curved would be a nice contrast.
