Votes For Women

Since finishing my Civil War quilt sampler last month, I am focusing on my other Barbara Brackman sampler called
Grandmother's Choice - Votes For WomenI decided to divide my blocks into two piles, and border one half in grey paisley, and the other half in raspberry red paisley. This is how it's starting to look...sweet!
I'm very happy with how it is coming together and will continue bordering the remaining blocks.
I also have to make one more block, since I realized I was missing the last block #49.

This quilt sampler was another wonderful project from Barbara Brackman with a weekly history lesson about suffragists. I looked forward to every post and enjoying making each of the blocks...yes, even the applique ones! Now I have to move on and get started on her 2014 sampler called Threads of Memory.
So many quilts... so little time!

I really like the 2 colour borders around the blocks. It really set each block off on it's own to be appreciated.

Love the idea of the different sashing...I have a set of blocks that would be great done like that! Mind if I borrow your idea!?!

Great design idea with the two color sashings. I made half of the blocks and sent them to Sarah's group to play with. I want to make the 2014 BOM and have the fabric I want to use, but I think I will wait a little more - I like to do a lot of blocks at once. Plus, I have other things to finish up first.

I've never thought of alternating border colors before. Love the look! Very clever of you! Great looking sampler!
I'm already a block behind on TOM. I haven't tried any of her BOW. I know I can't keep up with those, but you'd think I could handle one block a month! I'll watch you whip up both blocks in a heartbeat and maybe that will shame me into making the second one before the third one gets posted. *LOL*

The way you've framed each of the blocks is very striking. This will be a lovely quilt.
