Getting Reorganized

I am finally getting reorganized from quilt retreat. I was away a couple of days and then in denial for a while, and now I have to face the fact that retreat is over for another year and I have to clean up!
This was the pile of stuff that sat for days waiting to be put away. Some of the projects are back in the cupboard (probably until next year's retreat) and some of them I am determined to finish up.
I organized a couple of projects into these scrapbooking storage boxes with everything I need to work on the blocks... my needle case, scissors, and thread.  These are my quilt-as-you-go string blocks and I am sewing the twosies into foursies using purple sashing. I wanted to finish these during the olympics but I got so wrapped up in watching the action and cheering for the athletes, that I didn't get much accomplished at all. Here is the pile of blocks waiting to be sewn together, which I like to do by hand.

Wow Kathie...you sew all those blocks together by hand...I guess that is quilt as you go and these are joined by fabric strips? Thats a huge lot of work? Well done!! Re-organising surely isnt good when you have loads to do!

By hand? Is that what I understood? They are very pretty.

Love the QAYG blocks with purple sashing, and your new green header too. Yes, I know it's been there a little while, but I don't think I've said anything since you changed it. I'm still enjoying your Saturday blocks as well ;-)

Aren't those scrapbooking bins just the best? I use them too. In fact, I am preparing for my guild's annual retreat later this month.

It is funny how fast we get disorganized, but we always manage to reorganize! Love your blocks and have fun hand piecing. It is going to be beautiful!

Those blocks are beautiful! I don't understand how the quilt as you go thing works...is it easier? I mean obviously the quilting part would be easier but the book I have that explains it is soooo confusing. Also I bought it used and the previous owner had a notation that she would never do it again lol!! I think I was very influenced by that!
