Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party! Our goal is to encourage you to pick up your project, put a few stitches in, take some deep breaths, and enjoy the happy feelings that will likely result!

I have been having a wonderful time stitching the Lola Crow SAL (Stitch-A-Long) called Extraordinary Birds. I enjoy learning about a wide variety of birds and stitching them on my 18 count hand dyed aida.

This is the bottom of the design and as of yesterday I have completed 8,166 stitches which is 92% of the needed stitches up to "Feat 3" (which was posted last week).  Feat #4 was just posted on Friday and I haven't yet imported the pattern into Pattern Keeper since I wanted to complete more on the previous parts.

This photo shows part of my stitching in front of my tablet with the Pattern Keeper screen open. See on the right side of the screen where there are 6 thread colours that are finished? Seeing the new "0" stitches makes me so happy and motivates me to keep stitching to see more zeros!

Today I hope to finish the stitching for Feat 3 and then I will import Feat 4 into Pattern Keeper so I can keep making progress. Next week there will not be a pattern release so we have an extra week to catch up.

What are you hand stitching as June begins? Please share your projects with us and link up your blog below.

Your bird stitching looks great. Fun to see each bird emerge as you stitch. Happy stitching to you! Gail at the cozy quilter.

Ahhh! Pattern Keeper! I've never heard of that. But now I know how some of you keep all those stitches and all those colors under control. I blow up sections of the pattern on he photo copy machine and highlight what is done sometimes. That's my skill level. Enjoy your beautiful stitches.

Looks like you are doing just great on your Extraordinary Birds stitching, Kathy! I'm not familiar with Pattern Keeper - is it an app that holds onto the design chart for you? It looks handy! Have a wonderful Sunday!

OMG, I cannot imagine that many stitches and it is only part done! You are amazing. I am working on hand beading a project, slow going but it is looking good.

Making wonderful progress on that lovely project, Kathy. How do you find working full coverage...not my favourite thing but necessary sometimes. Do you recommend Pattern Keeper?

Listening to you talk about this project in your video last week, I loved how much information about the actual birds are being shared! This is not only abeautiful piece to stitch but very informative too. I can totally understand your joy in working on it!

I have never used Pattern Keeper. I will have to look into it. Your birds look fantastic. What an interesting cross-stitch. Thanks for hosting the link-up

I was a day late and a dollar short on getting my post finished to share, but still, as always, your SSS post inspired me! I've not had a lot of luck using the various apps to sort/track my cross stitch patterns. I can see where it would be SOOO helpful; I just can't seem to make it work for me! Maybe I'll give it another go. Have a great week, Kathy! :)
