Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!
If you are feeling like you have no time for relaxation this weekend, I understand completely! And yet, it's so important to make time to slow down, to breathe deeply, and to reset with some relaxing hand stitching.
I have been enjoying the Countdown to Christmas advent project called "A Pretty Song", This is where my project is as of yesterday. I adore the birds and really want to keep up with the pattern additions we get each day, but it has been a challenge!
In fact my hand stitching has become a little stressful this week as I try to keep up with a couple of advent stitching projects and finish some things for gifts. I have also been taping a short "flossmas" video every day and it has been a challenge sometimes to get everything done. My goals far exceed my capacity! This is a long time pattern for me, so I have only myself to blame for this stress. It happens every December and in the next 11 days I will struggle to finish all the things I want to make.
Are you the same? Do you put pressure on yourself to finish too many things in December- baking, shopping, decorating, wrapping, cooking, visiting, stitching, etc??
Link up your blog post below and share how things are going with your mid December projects!

I totally agree with you about the Christmas crazy. Even worse this year due to homeschooling my grandson. It's finals week!
Hope you have a productive day. December holiday scramble doesn't stress me out now as much as it used to. I realized that I don't enjoy going to a bunch of parties and events. All the people I REALLY want to be with are right here in our house (plus my sister-in-law). She comes frequently. I make and buy gifts throughout the year. My secret is that I write in my planner where I hid the things. LOL. Happy holidays. It doesn't hurt that I only have five more days as a substitute teacher this year and then I'm off 12/20 thru 1/5. Woop woop!
I’m in need of some slow stitching today and will be doing just that later today! Life seems to move at breakneck speed this time of year. I still have a few gifts to finish off too. All in good time. Thank you for the weekly reminder to slow down. Pretty stitch along!
It is definitely a busy time of year! Your Advent design looks sweet as can be, Kathy - I can see why you love those birds. I hope you can get a few stitches in each day without any stress!
Your header block is beautiful!!
We are just finishing a reno so I have given myself loads of grace. Decorating has been kept to a minimum this year!
I usually stress and have too much going at once this time of year, but this year my last craft for Christmas is done and all that is left is gifts to buy and wrap and some cookies to make. I feel somewhat relaxed though the fact that not all the gifts are purchased is concerning me. Your cross-stitch is really pretty. Keep calm and enjoy your stitching.
yes, so much pressure. Sometimes from others, sometimes from myself, sometimes there is just too much to get done comfortably
