Slow Sunday Stitching

It's Sunday and you know what that means... it's time for the weekly hand stitching party! We hope you will pick up your needles and thread or yarn and start making some stitches.

Here in Canada we are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend. I know it seems early for those who celebrate at other times of the year, but we really enjoy having a 3 day weekend to spend time outdoors with family and friends while the weather is still good. Today I will be hosting a Thanksgiving lunch for my family and after the dishes are done hope to have time for some stitching.

I have finished a large quilt and will have more to say once I get a photo of the finish, but for now I can share that my hands are tired from all the binding!

And maybe from too much cross stitch!?! This is a pattern from Lola Crow called "Pumpkin Party". It was an exclusive design for the Harvest Moon online event from Lindy Stitches and I could not resist it. I got the DMC floss from Michael's last week and started it on Slow Sunday Stitching. This is how far I got this week.

We have a very determined and strong raccoon in the neighbourhood who regularly tries to remove 2 cinder blocks from the top of the composter, and is sometimes successful. I'm sure she is this adorable, but wow does she make a mess!

What are you stitching today? Are you starting any projects for Halloween? Link up your blog post below and share your hand stitching with us.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Happy Thanksgiving, Kathy! What a cute raccoon…in real life, they can be a pain, especially on garbage day in our neighborhood! We have a compost cone and the raccoons have tried to get in but have never succeeded. I love seeing everyone’s fall stitching projects each week for Slow Sunday Stitching. Thank you for being our leader and cheerleader each week.

Happy Thanksgiving, Kathy! Looking forward to seeing the quilt you're finishing up! The racoon with his pumpkins is so cute - it's a fun one for October. Have a wonderful day!

We get both racoons and foxes in our neighborhood. Occasionally deer and coyotes since there's a large green space along the highway just three blocks away from my house. And bats, can't forget the bats! As long as nothing gets into the house, I can cope (though picking up scattered trash is no picnic).

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! Can't wait to see the reveal of your quilt. And...don't get me started on raccoons! Those daggum critters are a nuisance! We have trapped and removed dozens over the years.
