Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!

It's time to get out a stitching project, a cup of your favourite beverage, and enjoy some relaxation.

Since attending Stitch North I have had a terrible flare up of my chronic condition of Startitis. I can't seem to settle to work on one project without my brain teasing me with other ones. I started Chamomile Cottage - a Diana Bloom design and have enjoyed every second of this stitching.

The colours are subtle and it's a lovely spring design. I am stitching it on 18 count Porcelain by Roxy Floss using the recommended threads. I am making good progress on it (considering the Startitis flare up!) Oh my goodness I see one half stitch in the photo - I'll fix it today!

I made a flosstube video to share the projects I worked on in April so if you haven't seen that yet, click here to take a look. In the video I showed the little needlebook/ thread beds that I made to give to my table mates at Stitch North.

I also talked about the interesting dilemma of machine binding vs. hand binding. I did end up hand stitching all the little bindings because 1) I love hand stitching, and 2) I just couldn't get the machine binding to look acceptable. I was really stretched for time that week and this photo was taken late at night in my hotel room while I finished these after the first day of the conference.

I have also attended a bit of the Spring Mingle hosted by Lindy Stitches this weekend. Of course I started a new project. Can you guess what it is?

I need some medicine for this Startitis situation.
Does anyone have any remedies to share with me?

I hope you will link up your blog post below and share your projects and new starts with us!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Don't ask me for advice about start-itis! It's 4 am where I am and I'm mounting the linen for my new start on the Just Nan piece. At least we are being productive?

I too suffer from startitis! LOL nice projects though.

The only thing that can combat startitis is the warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment of a finish. Enjoy your stitching and don't worry about it!

I don't have a remedy for startitis - I think it afflicts us all! As long as you're enjoying the stitching, I don't think it matters how many things you have going at one time. Your new projects look wonderful to me - is the second one a robin with a worm? So cute!

Giggles, I love your Startitis problem!

You have some fun projects in the works. Some times you just have to get that startitis out of your system, there is no effective treatment I've found.

I don't mind having Startitis as long as I have a little time to spend on each project every week. I like Chamomile Cottage. Is that a little bird from the Spring Mingle? Your little needlebooks are adorable. I like to hand stitch my bindings also. I can never get machine stitched bindings to look as good as hand stitched. Enjoy your stitching! Thanks for hosting the Linkup.

What a beautiful new project you’ve started! What a fun way to create fussy cut needle books!

LOL, "Startitis" is a definite side effect of attending a stitch retreat and there is no known cure!! Every time I hear some of my favorite Flosstubers talk about attending one, part of me wants to go to one and part of me says "Noooo!!!". Do I really want to set myself up for seeing all of that temptation in person?!? I look forward to watching the video (and adding your channel to my Flosstube playlist). Your reward for all of your suffering will be the lovely pieces you will finish!

I sometimes suffer from that same disease! Hope some finishitis hits soon! Cute spring stitching. Stitching with friends is the best!

I love all your embroidery pieces. They are so cute. Do you know Julie Cefalu @ thecraftyquilter.com? She has a really good tutorial on machine binding. Check it out, it might work better for you.
