Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party! It's time to take a deep breath, pick up your needles and threads, and put some stitches into one of your projects.

It has been such a busy week that I haven't had much time or energy for stitching. So today I'll be sitting with my feet up, hand stitching the day away while I watch the Masters golf tournament. I am not a golfer, but I do enjoy the peaceful nature of the Augusta competition, seeing the beautiful green grass and flowers, while spending time stitching.

I am still focused on the Heaven and Earth Design full coverage project called Mini Treasure Hunt Bookshelf. This project is on 25 count easy grid lugana and I have stitched over 2,000 stitches now. It sounds like a lot, but it is only 2.7% of the total number of stitches. This is what it looks like today. Each square of the grid holds 100 stitches.

It's so interesting to look at the photo on the computer screen since it is usually 6" from my face when I am stitching and doesn't look like anything. I will be excited to see some of the book spines appear as I am slowly stitching over time.

I also bought a few pairs of cheap glasses since
it seems to be getting  harder to see my stitching at some times of the day.

Lastly, thank you for your lovely comments and suggestions on last week's blog post! I have read them over many times and appreciate your encouragement to continue with this full coverage/rabbit hole pursuit for as long as it lasts!

What are you hand stitching today? Is anyone  watching the golf tournament? Link up your blog post below and share your projects with us.

With all those colourful glasses, you can pick a pair to match your current project! Or, if you are like me, you can leave them in various rooms of your house so you can always find a pair when you need them….
I love how the design slowly emerges as you add more stitches to your full coverage piece. Happy slow stitching day, Kathy. The sticker arrived…many thanks for all you do!

Sounds like you could really use a bit of slow stitching today. The full coverage project is coming along beautifully. It may take a while to stitch, but as long as it's bringing you joy, no reason not to continue. Happy stitching this week.

We love to watch the Masters at our house, so it will definitely be on here today! I like the grid on your cross-stitch fabric - it must really help with the full coverage stitching. Enjoy your stitching today, Kathy!

Yes! I love the serenity of the golf course! It does always look so lush and pretty! And I can empathize with the readers…..I keep a pair in every project bag I’ve got going, so I don’t have to hunt for them! Have a peace-filled week! Hugs! :)

I too now need an assortment of glasses depending on what time of day it is. I get them at a odd sort of lots store for 99 cents. Soometimes it's fun to have a different "look" at school. The usually it's about making sure I can see. I'm not that matchy matchy kind of person.

I too have bought several pairs of glasses to keep near my stitching areas. I find them invaluable when stitching on the smaller grids. I agree that it doesn't look like anything when you are stitching a small space. Eventually you will take a step back and be fascinated by the picture that has emerged. Enjoy your stitching!

Cute glasses. I have them all over the house! Not watching golf, but will definitely be listening to my tunes.

Your stitching continues to grow and seems to compare to some of Monet’s paintings. It will be beautiful when finished! I am finding that I needed to up my reading glasses prescription .25 more than my actual prescription. I picked up tons of glasses at the dollar store as they come out accurate when my ophthalmologist tests them. I admire that you are able to stitch on such small counter of fabric. I also love how you are gentle with yourself about your goals! I am working on that.

I had never heard of these really large full coverage pieces until last week when I happened upon a youtube video of a finished one. So amazing and sooooooo much work. I will enjoy watching this come together.
