Slow Sunday Stitching - 5 Finishes

Welcome stitchy friends! We are so happy to see what your hands are creating and to encourage you in your creative journey!
I was very happy to finish 5 cross stitches this year and show them on my new flosstube video. None of them are fully finished and my ideas are still  percolating to figure out what these stitcheries should become. You can see them on the video link below.

One of my most enjoyable hand stitching tasks this past week was attaching the beads to the Vintage Angel. These are the supplies I used, including my favourite NYMO thread. It was so fun to dig around in the bead box and find just the right colours and sizes of beads to add. Then I had to search for a needle with a small enough eye that it could fit through the beads I had chosen!

I don't know if you can see the NYMO thread here in this photo? The goal is for the thread to be strong enough to hold the beads on forever, but also invisible on the finished piece. Oh she looks so pretty and I wish you could see her sparkly beads, but I just couldn't capture it with my camera.

Here are 4 of the finishes that I show in the video.
And now it's time to start Valentine's stitching! First up is a wonderful design called the Red Heart Mini Sampler by Pinker 'n Punkin, and I can't wait to pull out my red and pink flosses! 💖💖

Are you stitching for Valentine's Day? Link up your blog post below and share the projects you are stitching on this week!

It was fun to watch you showcasing your lovely finishes for January. I'm amazed you still have your gorgeous angel from the 1960's, and in the original box. Your Jolly Box has some lovely pretties inside. You certainly will enjoy stitching the February projects. I hope you are feeling better soon. Take care, Kathy.

Your cross stitch finishes are lovely. Especially the Vintage Angel! Im not starting any Valentines projects but I did think I might get going on an Easter project. Is it too soon to think Easter?

Your angel is delightful, Kathy! I've never added beads to needlework, but can see that it adds some fun sparkle. Enjoy your stitching today!

Lovely finishes in January. Isn’t it fun to save special items from our childhood …those angels are definitely sisters! I hope you feel like your normal self soon. No fun to be sick. Sending a hug and hoping for a better February for you.

I meant to comment on how beautiful that Aurora Borealis in your last post is turning out. This angel is also beautiful, Kathy. All wonderful work to have finished. Fun now to choose what's next.

I love your vintage angel. The stitched one is adorable and the tree topper is priceless. My daughter, born in the 60s, collected angels for a very long time. I hope to do a small Valentine stitch, but my biscornu is taking a lot of time.

Oh my goodness; Valentine's Day is THIS WEEK!!!! The time has flown since the new year.
I adore the angel, and am particular FOND of the 2025 'blessings' project; monochromatics have an aura <3
