Mini Quilt Finish

My July mini project was inspired by a baggie of donated 1" HST blocks
I wasn't sure what they would become when I started playing with the blocks, but this is what the design board/wool pressing mat looked like during construction.

Mug Mats

Eventually I figured out that I was making 2 mug mats for my sister.

I used a total of 46 HST blocks and a wonderful text print I found in my neutral bin.

To give you a better perspective of the mats I took a picture of them with my afternoon snack.
Finished sizes are:
8" x 4.75" and
8.5" x 4"

We are halfway through this memorable year and I thought I would put all the finished minis on the design wall for a photo before the mug mats began their journey to my sister's house. It's interesting that I have made this assortment of quilts in the past 6 months and have not yet used purple, green or orange. I do seem to be quite narrow in my colour usage. Perhaps I can branch out a bit more the rest of the year?

Sweet items for your sister and a great use for the text print. They would be cute tacked up to a wall somewhere too. I can't imagine working with blocks that finish at .5 inches! It's really fun to see your minis together - that's a good idea. They are each unique.

what a great collection of small quilts. I could use a little mat for my water which always makes a puddle.

Cute minis...I don't see any yellow either...purple is just dark pink!?! I dare you to create a mini with the "not used colours"

Such a nice exhibit! I really like the positive vibes from that text print.

I like text prints and yours is a god one.
Have you purposely skipped using those colors or just the way it happened?

What a lovely gift for your sister. I'm glad you too the time to put all the mini quilts up on the design wall. Great collection for the year! The Multi-sized Pinwheel mini is still my favorite.

These both turned out so great! What a super text print, perfect for the times. We all need a little encouragement to be brave and kind and gentle :)

Those mug mats are just darling, and the print fabric is perfect! I love that you made them out of scraps.

You've been making more fun little things while I just sit here and melt in this heat! Good for you!

It is a great collection! I don’t know if I can pick a favorite! The pinwheels are fabulous, but the Xs and Os is so cute!

Very clever use of the leftover pieces! Makes snack time extra fun, and you have inspired me on a way to use some leftovers I came across while deep diving in the stash last night.
Your minis look so cute up on the design wall together. I wonder if I could find all of mine now? My easily distracted pandemic brain hasn't been maintaining the sewing room very well. :)

Love the mug rugs. If you are using up scraps on hand, that would definitely limit your mini color range. Even so, you've got some fun projects finished this year.
