|Full trunk for quilt adventure|
I haven't sewn a single stitch since returning, but have been admiring the purchases made while on the road trip home.
|A New Halloween project and some neutrals|
Do you ever do that - see some fabrics that inspire you to start something that you had no intention of making, and know that you don't have time to make it?!?
And then you buy it anyway! I have big plans for the Riley Blake panels and fabrics that hopped into my arms. And I have less than 2 months to get it done. UGH!
And speaking of UFO's, not a single bit of progress was made on my August UFO.
It will be the same goal for September - to add a border, pin baste, machine quilt and bind Scrap Dance Tango. I'll link up to One Monthly Goal and hope that September brings more success in completing projects than starting them!
I love this post Kathy. I think its an addiction! I was at Creative Sisters yesterday to pick up some fabric I needed for the borders of my Mosaic Mystery Quilt and while I was there I bought a quilt kit for my grandkids giving me another UFO! I have to get this one done before they are over the cutesy animals. Another quilter in the store said they will never be over the cutesy animals . Good luck on your August/um Septermber goal.
I have that "hopped into my arms" thing happen, too. LOL Looks like you'll be busy!
Hopped, huh? I have had fabric call to me, but hop, nah. I think I have a tote of panels somewhere that followed me home. Hope that Elsie has a good Spa Day.
I love it when something inspires immediately like that...in theory at least! I will enjoy seeing what you have in mind for it. Love that saying with Julie.
Being smitten and inspired by new fabric is a great feeling! It just means that you still love this hobby of ours :)
I love it when fabric 'hops' into my arms. I have a quilt shop visit planned for early October and I hope a lot of 'hopping' will take place. I can't wait to see what you make with the panels and fabric.
Oh that is so funny--I remember fabrics just jumping off the shelves right into my waiting arms, too...when we had a nice store near here...
sounds like your adventure was fabulous...hugs, Julierose
I just love that Scrap Dance Tango!!!! Glad you have such a fun time!!!
I hopped over to your Northern Stalker's blog and read about your experiences from her perspective. Sounds like you ladies know how to have a good time.
I don't mind if fabric hops into my arms--if it brings its own cash to pay its way out of the store. :)
Lovely quilt. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.
"accidentally started a new UFO". lol. Please, don't call it a UFO already, the poor thing might get some self-esteem anxieties. I bet you will finish it before many others that are sitting much higher on the UFO list. I know because it has happened to me, lol. Enjoy the beginning of a new project. Always fun. ;^)
The only sewing I did this week was finishing the binding on the wedding quilt. So don't feel bad...you will find your mojo again!! I am taking hand work on my mini holiday with hubby this week.I am hoping that will inspire me to want to do more when I return!
You did make progress on other projects last month, so you shouldn't feel too badly about the August UFO. Hope you have a great weekend once you get unpacked and back to stitching.
I wish you the best on your monthly goal. It is a pretty quilt. Oops. I didn't realize you were supposed to have time to make the quilts you kit up! I am cleaning the sewing room and that is probably my biggest mistake! I agree with Chantal, it isn't a UFO until you at least have a stitch in it.
I am new to your site and love your encouragement. Your quilts are inspiring too. firstname.lastname@example.org
At least you had a back-up machine and got some sewing accomplished. I'm sure it was a pleasant week. Lol on finding fabric that you could not leave at the quilt store. I sure can relate.
