June's UFO - Shattered

The UFO for the month of June was based on the fact that I am OUT of batting...yikes! I bought a roll of Warm and Natural a while ago to use for my machine quilted projects, and it is empty now. That's a lot of quilts finished!
So my goal this month will be to work on the only UFO that doesn't need a lot of batting to finish up... "Shattered".
It is a raw edge applique project, and is made from the scraps of my "sometimes-in-progress" Indian Orange Peel blocks.
These are the blocks that are made so far. I need to figure out how many more scraps I have and how many blocks it will be...I'm guessing that 8 or 9 blocks would be a great number!?! Then I will put them together with a "quilt-as-you-go" technique.
To see more UFO projects, hop over to the "Lovely Year of Finishes" post.

I started a quilt like this but hand appliquéd them down
love the look of yours
ok so if its raw edge applique will you quilt the blocks alot to make sure they don't unravel much since they are small pieces?
curious as to how they will last...
thanks

I may just have to get mine out again and work on it!

Nothing can bring a quilter to a standstill like running out of batting. 8 blocks looks like a great number to me, enjoy your quilt as you go -- such a nice way to do lots of quilting without the bother of wrestling a big quilt.
