Merry Christmas!

It's 1:30 in the morning here and so I can wish you a Merry Christmas! I will soon be falling into bed for a few hours of sleep before heading into a very busy celebration tomorrow. But before I do that, I wanted to quickly show you the gifts I made for Christmas.
These are the 22 photo calendars (which have at least 12 photos each) using a total of more than 260 photographs that I have taken throughout 2010. There are 2 for my parents, 1 for my mother-in-law, 2 for my kids, 1 for my daughter's boyfriend, 12 for nieces and nephews, and 4 friends!

And here are my 3 finished quilts before they were wrapped! Well, the one on the left is not exactly "finished". It still needs the binding hand stitched on the back, which will be done in the car on the way to the festivities. The quilt on the right has already been delivered to it's new owner, my Aunt Eleanor, and the other two are going to my 2 sisters-in-law.

I also made 8 mug mats for the older nieces,  the girlfriends of my nephews, and my siblings. I was planning to make them all oven mitts, but I struggled so much to make the first pair, and then the second pair was a total disaster, so I gave up on that!

Then I remembered this great tutorial on how to make cute little mug mats. Jennifer's measure 7.5" x 9.5" and mine are a little smaller at 5" x 6". In the pockets are a tea bag, a little spoon, and a tiny packet of sugar. Also wrapped in their packages will be Tim Horton's gift certificates (a favorite place to buy coffee around here).

And guess what?! I made up a little gift to give to one of my blog readers...I couldn't leave you out! I cut up a kit of pieces for you to make this Ho Ho Ho wallhanging for next Christmas. I'm also adding a Ho Ho Ho decoration, a box of smarties, and you'll get your very own mug mat too! Everyone who left a comment on my blog this week automatically gets entered (and thank you for all your encouraging words to help me believe I could accomplish all the tasks I set out to do) and if you leave a comment on this blogpost, I'll throw your name in the draw for the Christmas package. Merry Christmas!

I'm sitting here Christmas morning (yes, it's very early yet) enjoying the snow here in the mountains of eastern Kentucky (first time for a white Christmas since 1995) and reading blogs that inspire me. I love the three quilts you were getting ready to wrap! What is the pattern of the one in the middle? Beautiful! Thank you for your generosity. My daily email is bngwingo@yahoo.com. Wishing you a blessed Christmas! Beck

The child in me wouldn't let me sleep in, so I am up early too. The house was bathed in light from the [almost] full moon and made the rooms very bright. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Kathy.

Merry Christmas Kathy! What true quilter has not worked on a project in the car while on the way to its recipient! I was hoping to get a mug rug for Christmas, so far, nadda..I may have to make my own, unless I win yours!

It's 6 am here, the tree is on, the house quiet and I'm enjoying my first cuppa in peace before everyone gets up....I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

Well, I don't know about the child in me, but the kitten in the house wouldn't let me sleep in this morning! Kathy, I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Day and that you continue to share your few quilting trials & tribulations and many resounding successes with us in the upcoming year.

...And you know that I'm at the edge of my seat, hoping you'll pick me to send the Ho-Ho-Ho kit to!!!

I was so struck by your HoHoHo quilt that I ALMOST started one for myself. Now I can just hope that you draw my name. I would love to have it!

The HoHoHo wall hanging turned out just so adorably! So glad that I was not the only one stitching binding on the way to my Christmas celebrations this year. What a lovely selection of Christmas gifts. I hope they were all warmly received and that you enjoyed a lovely holiday.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Kathy. I trust that the recipients of your gifts will feel all of the TLC that is in each gift. You are one talented person. I would like to adopt you. However, I was the lucky recipient of 4 completed placemats that I had started 3 or more years ago. I also recieved the tops completed to a set of 6 placemats. They were not finished since I neglected to purchase sufficient fabric 2 or more years ago. These lovely gifts were given to me by my daughter. Sweetheart she is! When I was asked what I wanted for Christmas I gave her the fabric for the 6 and said "Placemats like yours please." I didn't know that she had already "borrowed" the others from my collection of UFOs. It is very warming to have people like you in a family. Keep up the awesome work.
Wishing you a blessed new year.

this is my second post, the last one didn't seem to work. We just got home from several days away visiting with family and friends. Great time of year and the weather has been fine for traveling.
You've made some wonderfully Christmas gifts. Love the mug mats. I made two quilts for granddaughters, one not quite finished, but she was able to take home and use and I will visit in a few weeks to add the binding. Happy New Year's to you and family.
