This has nothing to do with quilts, but is another one of my favorite things! At this time of the
year a lot of my time is taken with enjoying the blueberry season. I have been to pick berries twice this week, the second time with my sister and her two daughters, who have never picked blueberries before. They really enjoyed it (although I am sure that the girls ate more than they picked!) and they hope to go again later in the season. The blueberry farms just opened this week for picking, so it is the beginning of blueberry season here. There will likely be two more good weeks to pick.
The strawberries around here were not good this year, so it was great news to d
iscover that the blueberries are fantastic...plentiful, big, sweet and juicy. I freeze as many as I can each summer so that we can enjoy blueberry muffins,
jam, and pancakes in the middle of the winter. I freeze them in bags of 4 cups each, unwashed, and then wash the berries just before I cook with them.
Yum Yum!

The only place I can pick berries around here is in the grocery stores. LOL Enjoy your bounty!
Oh, YUM!!! I just love blueberries but they don't grow as well here. Such beautiful pictures.
I have fond memories of going strawberry picking with my family in NY. My friends and I always went picking wild blackberries too. Thanks for sharing your fun.
Those blueberries look like I could just reach across cyberspace and grab a handful. Yummy!
I can almost taste them. We go picking here, too, but haven't been yet. It's a good thing they don't weigh us before we begin and then again before we leave.
We can go strawberry picking here but not blueberry. They look very yummy. Your nieces and nephews sound like my children when they were little. I alway thought the farmer should weigh the children before and after picking I'm sure he would have made more money that way.
