Slow Sunday Stitching

W
elcome to the first hand stitching party in July!

Pick up your favourite stitching project and join us today for some fun and relaxation!

I posted a video on my Youtube channel of all the projects I stitched on in the month of June. Life goes by so fast sometimes and I enjoy the process of reviewing the accomplishments of the month. You can see the video below...

I have been a tiny bit obsessed with the FIFA world cup soccer tournament and have been trying to get some quilt bindings finished while watching the games.

It has been so hot here that it's uncomfortable to sit under the weight of a quilt while finishing the binding, so it has been slow going. I have been sitting beside the window air conditioner and trying to get some stitching in. Canada is now out of the tournament, so I'll be watching less TV and hopefully have more stitching time.

I have also started the "Women in Science" cross stitch SAL by Climbing Goat Designs.

This project features "six incredible women who have changed the story of science"....most of whom have not received the credit they should have earned in their achievements. I am enjoying the history lessons and learning more about these women. The first scientist featured was Katherine Johnson and there have been 2 more patterns released, so I better get a move on!

What are you hand stitching today? Are you suffering from the heat where you live? It has been so hot here, I haven't been outside for days (unless walking to the car). Please link up your blog post below and share your slow stitching with us.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Love your women in science project!!! What fun to learn about the history behind them. The past four days it has been in the 90's with the heat index up to 100. (USA -- Ohio) We finally got some rain yesterday. Looks like it will be in the 80s this week with hopefully some more rain in the forecast.

I try to get outside at least two hours in the early morning when it's still in the 70's to work on pulling weeds and playing in my plants. We seem to take two to three showers a day and hang out in the pool. Water temp this week was 92! It's still refreshing.

Too hot to be outside ! I’ve been doing some sewing in my air conditioned house. It’s looking like we are going to have some more tolerable temps soon. Then, I can quilt or read in the gazebo.
The Women of Science project looks interesting. Are the quilts you are binding ones you have made?
Stay cool!

I love the Women in Science project - what a fun idea! In Colorado it hasn't been quite as hot as what you're experiencing, but I still need the fan blowing on me to be comfortable. Wishing you a cooler stitching day today, Kathy!

I love Climbing Goat designs. I've been following the Women in Science SAL. She always gives great background to her SALs!

At least Katherine Johnson was recognized in the wonderful movie Hidden Figures. That looks like a great project.

Alas, I'm shivering down here. =) The Women in Science is an interesting SAL. I've watched the movie Hidden Figures many times of which the story of Katherine Johnson was told. Her story was and is inspirational. I hope you get some relief from those high temperatures.
