Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly celebration of hand stitching! Why not join us as we make time to enjoy the benefits of relaxation with our favourite projects?

Recently I have been obsessed with the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery year long SAL called Arctic AnimalsI am stitching this on the recommended 28 count Cashel linen called "Nocturne" by Picture This Plus. I was happily stitching the top of the design and working along the top on the Aurora Borealis, but made a mistake which resulted in part of the design being a half stitch off! Can you see where the circle is showing my mistake?

So I abandoned the top (while I think of a solution) and went to the bottom of the design to start a new animal pattern released this week - a Narwhal! 💖

I became  obsessed - started stitching him on Friday and finished on Saturday! I have 3 more animals to stitch on this - an arctic hare, a polar bear and a harp seal.

Does this happen to you? You become so engrossed in a project that you forget all the other things you wanted to do and can only think of finishing some stitching? I wish I would become obsessed with finishing some things, but that doesn't seem to happen! LOL

It has been too cold and snowy here to do anything but stitching! This is a picture of my car before heading to work one morning this week. First you have to start the car and get it warmed up, then you have to clean the snow off the car, and then you hope the snow plow hasn't come by in the night and dumped all the snow from the road into your driveway!! If that happened, you have to shovel the end of the driveway to get onto the street. And by then if you're not too tired, you go to work!

What are you stitching this week? Are you obsessed with a project that you are really enjoying? Link up your blog post below and share your hand stitching with us!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Dein Wal ist ja Herzallerliebst. Ja, es doch schön, so in das Projekt vertieft zu sein und alles zu vergessen.
Bin auf deine weiteren Tiere gespannt.
Liebe Grüße sendet dir

Oh how true the progression of cleaning your car with snow on it. Don't forget the part where you don't clean it off enough and the little bit of snow you miss gets sucked into the car when you open the door. It melts quickly on the seat. You sit in a wet spot on your way to work.

Lots of snow here too…a good day for sewing inside! What a cute narwhal! Take care Kathy.

I'm so sorry that you're bothered by that mistake - can you figure out a way to fix it? The animals in this SAL are delightful! I love the puffins, and a narwhal - I never expected you to be stitching one of those. It is definitely fun to get obsessed with a project and not be able to put it down!

Those pesky mistakes! That is why I don't do cross stitch. I make far too many of them.

so much snow - I remember having to clean the car off before I could leave for work but here it doesn't happen often and normally work was cancelled if you had very much - so much closes in the south if it snows.

So annoying when you make a cross stitch error! Your narwhal is adorable. That is a lot of snow. Hopefully you didn't have th clear your driveway too.

I was a school teacher so usually a snowfall like that resulted in a day off. The driveway and car got cleaned off in a casualy manner. I love your stitchery. That narwhal is sort of cute. I'm sure you will be able to fix your mistake.

it's tough to not have a garage or carport if you have snow. For sure. Then the ice! We got snow all day yesterday, surprising as predictions were for slight snow starting at 4! The sun here in high Colorado altitudes melts a lot of it
love your stitching Kathy

I can happily say I don't miss the days of cleaning snow off my car or having the snow plow dumped back the snow I finished shoveling. I love those little Artic stitcheries. I tend to get lost in my stitching at times, yesterday after laying out and pinning down and began stitching the bits on the winter goddess piece I am slow stitching 6 hours went by when I finally put my needle down.

I love your artic animals stitchery. It must be hard living in snow and ice over winter, we only have to deal with wind and rain. But at the moment we are enjoying lovely sunny weather.

Wow! I’m impressed you can stitch on 28 count linen! My eyes would be crossed! 😊I wouldn’t have noticed your mistake at all. I have become quite obsessed with a stitching project – but am working on finishing UFOs as they have now taken over my sewing/quilting/crocheting room! Yikes! Your journey to work sounds like a rough one. I will stop complaining about our New Mexico dust storms!
