Welcome to Slow Sunday Stitching!
We meet here every Sunday to celebrate the art of all varieties of hand stitching. If it involves a needle (or 2 or 3!) and thread, and stitches taken with your hands, we want to know all about it!
This is what I am hand stitching these days ...some embroidery projects for Christmas gifts. Is there anything more fun than embroidery AND selvages?!?!
I have a rather large collection of selvages that are an untapped source of enjoyment. Most people call this garbage and throw it away, but as my friends know, I consider this a treasure! Do you know how many wonderful things you can make with this collection of colour and inspiration?!?!
What are you hand stitching today?

There are quite a few fun things to do...but yes, embroidery is definitely up there. =) Have a lovely day stitching your Christmas embroidery.
I haven't had much success using salvages yet. I'm still in the collection phase. I would probably have to use them on a wall hanging. The little holes in the edges would bother me in a bed quilt. LOVE those reds! Can't wait to see what your project becomes. It's that time of year for gifts.
I have a pile of selvedges I've saved, but have no idea what I'll do with them! It's rather exciting, like a mystery. LOL! Can't wait to see your finished project!! :)
I don't keep my selvages, but you are making me wish I did! Have a good day.
I have only used salvages a couple times but whenever I see them on others blogs I wish I kept them too. I get a lot of my fabric in precuts though and they aren't always included depending on the piece. I am knitting and quilting today when decorating the house
Working on Christmas presents too so all hush hush!! But needles of all sorts will be flying and trying to get work done today!
I'm still collecting selvages. I'll be working on Christmas gifts still.
