Slow Sunday Stitching
Earlier in the week there was a warm and sunny day while summer was trying to linger on. I had to go to the beach one more time to top up my Vitamin D. I took along my hand stitching bag and started the next block for my Life Is Beautiful quilt.
As you can see, the beach was deserted. It was the perfect respite - calm and peaceful.
The very next day the weather took a turn, the temperature dropped and the cool fall air blew in. Time to get the furnace prepared for a long winter ahead and get the winter clothes out of storage.
It's also the perfect weather for snuggling under your favourite quilt and reading a good book, or putting a few more stitches in your project.
Why not make a cup of tea and treat yourself to visiting some of the links below. You will be inspired by some wonderful hand stitching projects.

How lucky you are to be able to make embroidery on the empty beach!
A beautiful and relaxing spot to sit and sew. Wise woman to take advantage of good weather. I am more than happy to have a cup of tea as I stitch :-)
Hopefully we'll get a bit more warm weather breaks....your stitching is lovely / same thing happened here...it got quite chilly!
We've been having an Indian Summer here - it's been so warm and sunny the last couple of weeks, it's bliss! Another good thing about the time of year: deserted beaches! What a good idea to take some stitching along. I've been taking my paints, but your'e giving me ideas! Have a lovely day Kathy :)
The Life's Beautiful quilt looks stunning, looking forward to watching your progress. I do fancy making an embroidered quilt but I'd be worried about stitching all those circles!!
Such wonderful serene surroundings to contemplate life while doing some wonderful handwork - perfect!
This is definitely the time of year that I love to stitch under the blanket, with a mug of tea, in front of the fireplace! Your handwork is lovely!! :)
Autumn has arrived here also. Keep warm and enjoy your beautiful stitching.
I can't believe how cool it is was this am. We still have some 80 degree days ahead but the humidity is much lower. I bet it is fun to stitch with the natural sounds of the beach in the background!
What a lovely spot to do some stitching!
Beautiful spot for end of summer stitching. I am getting ready for company so no slow stitching for me today (insert sad face) but I look forward to seeing what everyone else is up to.
Beautiful place to stitch, Glad you could enjoy a nice day at the beach.
I love to stitch outside! Always the best light. That view looks so lovely. Thanks for hosting!
Did you see The birdseed quilt on stashbuster. I think it's on the Moda blog. I immediately thought of you when I saw it
Your teacup is the perfect one to use while doing your red work!
I also love the beach at the end of the season. It's much less crowded and so peaceful and the perfect place for some relaxing sewing!
What a lovely place for some quiet stitching!
My Guy and I are always trying to guess when we hit "the last nice day" for the year. It usually doesn't happen till November. Looks like you had a very relaxing day at the beach.
I've just found out about Slow Sunday Stitching via sewhappyquilting so am linking up for the first time (a day late I know!!). Looking forward to linking up with other hand stitchers.
