Life Is Beautiful block #16 |
Another embroidery block is finished for my Life Is Beautiful project. This is block #16 and it is a quote by Victor Hugo. I have been pondering the meaning and I think it might mean something like...
love is the sweetest creation that a beautiful life can produce.
Here are more of Victor's interesting quotes to ponder:
*Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.
*When a woman is talking to you, listen to what she says with her eyes.
*Initiative is doing the right thing without being told.
*Music expresses that which cannot remain silent and that which cannot be put into words.
I won't have much time for slow stitching today, but hope to have time to get a few more embroidery blocks prepared.
Moon rising at dusk last night |
Will you be watching the moon tonight?

The quotes on your blocks are quite pithy and always give me pause for thought. Keep them coming! I hope to watch the lunar eclipse tonight too.
Well said, Cozy Quilter! I haven't heard anyone use the word pithy since my mom died over thirty years ago! Love your stitchery. Your stitches are all perfect! I'm certainly going to try to stay up to see the moon. I might have to set an alarm clock and get up especially to view it, it will be worth it.
Love those quotes especially the music one...we are hoping that it will not be cloudy tonight so we can view the total moon show. Your block is lovely...these will be so beautiful set all together....hugs, Julierose
Hope you get in some time for stitching today. The plan here is to check out the moon, My Guy is already charging up the camera and has his largest lens all cleaned and ready to go.
Well this morning I could not see the moon due to cloud cover ; hope that it won't be the same situation this evening ! :) Your embroidery is so pretty.
Clouds are supposed to be covering our view of the moon. I really like that quote and the accompanying embroidery. I am looking forward to seeing all these beautiful blocks together.
Such a pretty embroidery and beautiful quote!
The quotes are good, but the first one about laughter is absolutely so true! Pithy is a word rarely used. Nice to hear someone use it.
These little stitcheries are just wonderful and full of meaning. I think we will be cloud covered tonight, but I plan to see what I can see. My SIL and I are advid night sky watchers.
That's a very pretty project you're working on.
I hope to see the moon, also....maybe I'd better set my alarm as I'm sure this is after my bedtime!
We should have clear skies, so I'm considering going down to the sea to watch it from one of the highest hills roundabout - if I have the energy, otherwise, the garden it is! Your blocks are looking wonderful Kathy, hope you've had time to do the prep you planned today :)
Thanks for the Victor Hugo quotes, definitely some good ones! I will be hoping to see the eclipse, but we're supposed to be clouded over tonight. We'll see what develops!
I'm not sure we will be able to see the moon because of cloud cover, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I love your little embroidered block--so cute!
Thank you for the eclipse info and link. It answers all the questions we had and some. It is going to be a remarkable evening.
I always love a good quote and when it is stitched for remembrance it's even better!
Might be too cloudy to see the moon or eclipse tonight so I might not be singing "I see the moon and the moon sees me..."
Lovely embroidery and sweet quote. I'm taking a break from knitting helmet liners and stitching a Halloween banner.
Enjoy your day!
A little bit of stitching is better than none. Very nice photo of the almost super moon. Thanks for hosting Slow Sunday Stitching.
It is a great serie of embroidery, with quotes that makes us think about our lives. Your stiching is beautiful. I am also waiting for the eclipse, although now it's raining here. :( Enjoy
we will try to see the eclipse tonight also - hope you do too
I remember being woke up when I was a child to go outside and look at an eclipse. Guess I'll let my family do that without me this time.:)
My kids and I loved to get out in the night to view the heavens, whether it be an eclipse, a meteor shower, comet, or Northern Lights. We have even been known to stand on the porch and howl at the full moon. : )
Now I have to do my viewing (no howling) alone. DH hits the hay early and budges for nothing.
p.s. We had cloud cover and couldn't see it until the eclipse was almost over. : (
lovely stitching and some very good quotes. Went into the garden at 3am and saw the eclipse but it was too dark and far away to get a photo! it was not as red as I thought it was gong to be but worth seeing, such luck I woke up at the right time
