On the design wall today is my UFO project of the month. I started piecing these Civil War sampler blocks in January 2011.
It was a project on Barbara Brackman's blog and I enjoyed making the blocks throughout that year, and learning some history about the Civil War. This project was on my UFO list for 2013 and here it is almost the end of the year and they are finally making it into a quilt top. I have many of the vertical sashings sewn on and need to cut and sew the horizontal sashings. Oh yah - and figure out the borders!
My goal is to get this quilt top completely together by the last day of the year... which is tomorrow! Yikes!
What do you think the odds are of that?!?! LOL

I love everything about the quilt - blocks and colors are fantastic. I can't wait to see it completed. Thanks for sharing.
You can do it! Looking good so far. That border fabric you showed us in a previous post will look great!
Love it! You can do it and I can't wait to see how it looks finished.
I am looking forward to participating in her new BOM for 2014.
Civil war quilts always catch my eye. Love yours, the colors are wonderful! Looking forward to seeing the finished top.
I love all of the blues you used in it!
Good luck meeting your goal. It will be a beautiful top whenever you get it together.
You can do it!!!!
Oh, I have confidence in you.... That is if you can work on it without interruption......
If you head to your sewing space all day, and only come up for air to eat, you can do it. LOL! Actually, it shouldn't take you that long to get it done. It's almost there. I have a UFO that I wanted to get done by the end of the year. But since a certain little grandson is coming to visit all day today, there won't be any sewing done today.
It's beautiful! You can do it!
Not a problem getting it to a top if you don't sleep! Thanks for sharing.
You can do it! The assembly part is nearly done. Borders hardest part is auditioning and deciding.
This is just gorgeous. Even if you just get it sashed and ready for borders, I think you will have made wonderful progress.
You can do it, Kathy!! (That is, if no one calls you, or comes to your door--you don't stop for meals, or bathroom breaks, and sleep is something you can do without.) Just kidding, or course you can do it! : )
You can do it, it's looking lovely
Good morning, Kathy! Love your blocks...you will have a gorgeous quilt when you are all done! Happy New year!
Those are beautiful quilt blocks and I'm betting you CAN turn it into a top by the end of tomorrow!! Now don't prove me wrong :)
So many lovely blocks!
Looks like you are well on your way to getting that together. It's a beauty!! Can't wait until 2014 when I get to see it all together :)
Love all the different sampler blocks in your quilt Kathy :) And of course I really like the blue and white color scheme - it will be wonderful! Will you hand-quilt it?
Fabulous. Love the fabrics. Can't wait to see the finished top next week!
Sew fast. 2013 is almost over!
with the speed you work at no doubt we will see this beauty finished in a couple of days
I hope you make it! My Grandmother's Choice blocks have been together for a couple weeks, but my friends have decided I need a few borders--yeesh! I was ready to call it done.
Beautiful blocks. It is going to be a beautiful quilt.
