It's getting down to the wire now!
I have 2 days to finish my July UFO!
While I was quilting, I came across a little problem with a seam allowance. It appeared as though I hadn't sewn that seam at all...can you see it?!?
I paused the machine quilting and hand stitched that little hole closed, and then carried on.
The machine quilting on all the blocks is finished, and I am now stitching in the ditch just before the first border.
So there are just two borders left to quilt. I'm thinking of a free motion feather with a straight spine going right between the two borders. No rush...LOL! I still have two days to finish the quilting and bind this UFO!
Going well! Nothing like a deadline is there? Don't forget to breathe...
ReplyDeleteGood job on fixing unstitched seam. "They" say free-motion feather are easy. I think some curved stitching designs would compliment nicely with the straight lines.
ReplyDeleteYou are so close! Keep on quilting!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your UFO's. I am way behind on finishing anything this year. Feathers would look great on the borders. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI love all the plaids in this quilt. Aren't you glad you practice your slow stitches for instances like this! LOL Good luck with finishing on time.
ReplyDeleteTá ficando muito lindo...
ReplyDeleteI hate it when a seam misses and yes I have done that too and then catch it when I am quilting.
ReplyDeletesuffering from mental butterfly disorder at the moment . ive more UFOs than area 59 and its not just quilts...lol
ReplyDeleteYou can do it in two day, you are almost done...whohoooo!!
ReplyDeleteHate it when that happens...some slow stitching and you are off again.Check out my last post on my blog..you'll get a kick out of it!
ReplyDeleteI always have to laugh when I am quilting my quilts because I find sewn in threads, loose seams, and off points that professional quilters are always complaining about when a quilt is brought to them. So I chastise myself for my poor workmanship and threaten to charge myself more the next time. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, no--sounds like no rush at all!! : )
ReplyDeleteYes, I have had that happen. I've closed many a little opening by hand after a top was "done".
Loving these plaids--wish I could play in mine right now!
I bet that you won't be getting any house work done in the next two days! LOL
ReplyDeleteI just love this plaid quilt - may have to run to the thrift shop and grab up some shirts (used up all my sons).
ReplyDeleteNearing that Finish Line with just Borders left- YOU CAN DO IT!
ReplyDeleteYou are almost done! This is just such a great quilt with all those plaids!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so inviting to cuddle up in! A great quilt!
ReplyDeleteGo Kathy! Go Kathy! We support you Kathy! GOOOOO Kathy! (paste a big cheerleader's jump with pompoms waving here.) :)
ReplyDeleteyou make it all sound so easy, not sure where I am going wrong! Love all the plaids
