On my design wall this week is the first 4 blocks of my scrappy ticker tape quilt.
You can read about the beginning of the project on this blog post. It is coming along well and I am happy with the shapes that are evolving on the blocks...some triangles, and the rest seem to be 4 sided shapes (which Amy probably knows the proper names of!).
I think I will have enough scraps to make at least 9 blocks.

OOOOHHHH DO I LOOOOOVE THIS! Ok I gotta make one. I am.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your bright colors! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of stained glass windows. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend that makes "rock candy". These blocks remind me of that. So fun to use up those tiny scraps, nothing wasted at your house!
ReplyDeleteFun fun fun! Glad you are enjoying playing with these little pieces :)
ReplyDeleteSo these are raw edge applique? I could do that. I have scraps!! I have seen some sweatshirt jackets done that way but they were more semetrical; I like your odd shapes. Oh, no, I feel another project coming on.
ReplyDeleteoh great, something else I can do with the scraps that are so tiny I can't even use them in crumb quilting very well! I had just convinced myself to finally toss them out! It does look great, such a fun light quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the very irregular quilts.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this. Darn it, now I have to make some quick decisions. Start this project, the dozen others that I love or sleep? Mmmmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteQuadilaterals?
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is completely cool. I absolutely love your fabrics. How fun!!! Happy start to the sewing week!
ReplyDeleteOMGOODNESS!!!! Those are COOOOOOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd Angela is correct: quadrilaterals. However, some of the newer math books are calling them quadrangles (to mimic tri"angles" I guess???)
ohhhhh ahhhhhh, now those are some happy looking blocks!! I may have to give that a try :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice. They look like stained glass.
ReplyDeleteI love these blocks! May have to try this.
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely blocks that anybody could make, using any fabrics, any sizes, any shapes, any style of raw edge applique.
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty, pretty.
These are very pretty blocks, Kathy. You're doing great with the 36 patch blocks, too.
ReplyDeletelove these blocks, very fun. I have wanted to make a quilt like this, tile quits but hand appliqued, love the way your making them!
ReplyDeletegreat colors, lucky you to have all those scraps!
Kathie
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! I need to hop on over to the blog post to see how it's done!
