Another UFO Finished!

This month's UFO was #11 (click here or here for more details about this month's quilt). Here is the finished quilt hanging on the clothesline. I think it's just a weird looking quilt!
It was a tough finish for me because I don't like it!  And if I don't like a quilt, it's very easy for me to leave it (indefinitely) in the UFO closet! Sometimes I do get an inspiring idea that transforms a UFO into a quilt that I could appreciate more, and sometimes I feel motivated to finish a quilt to donate.
But this month, this quilt is finished only because it was the UFO of the month
I stitched in the ditch for the horizontal and vertical seams, and on the diagonal seams. Then I free motioned the large and small circles.
I finished with a meander stitch on the borders, which was quick and easy.
This photo clearly shows that the top and bottom borders are a bit bigger than the sides, due to an error when cutting the border fabric!

Oh well...it's a finished quilt and it lays flat, so I can't complain!

  1. Done is DONE and I'm cheering for you! I have NO PROGRESS on my UFO #11. Sad to say I'm not doing so well at the UFO Challenge or the Stash Reports lately. Maybe next year I'll do better...

  3. Isn't this the quilt where you were absolutely loving that border fabric? Too bad you don't like the quilt.
I agree that it is really hard to finish something you don't care for. But you know, it is a very cheerful quilt and it is certain to brighten someone's day!

I like your quilt, the colors are so much fun, and the pattern too. This would make a great kid´s quilt, I think.

  14. Your completed list of UFOs is way more advanced than mine. I don't even want to count them up right now....

I like the quilt and am not sure what bothers you so much about it. It's colorful and happy and warm. And it's ready to wrap around someone, best of all :)

  17. Even if it isn't your favorite quilt ever, it is very pretty and will be perfect to keep handy for giving to someone else at some point. Sometimes just crossing it off the list is satisfaction enough. Congratulations on perseverance.

  23. Yay for finishing! You must have liked the quilt at some point if you bought the kit, but I know exactly how a quilt can turn on you while you're sewing it. Usually quilting it fixes that problem for me, but there's always a charity somewhere willing to take those that never do grow on us. And it's finished. No more worrying about it. No more taking up space. :)
