Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!  It's the day after Halloween and also the time change (we fall back 1 hour). So today we will be a little discombobulated, and maybe in a sugar coma!

I did get a Halloween quilt finished on Halloween so I'm very proud of that! This is the project from the Spooky Box from Fat Quarter Shop. It is called "Sweet Brew". The 4 pieced blocks were a little tricky to make - the bats, the bubbles (9 patches), the candy, and the stars. But it was a fun project and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I don't have a photo of the finished quilt yet, since it was dark when the last stitches were taken last night.

I added one of the cute little tags that came in the Spooky box to my label as I was hand stitching the binding down (which was a black fabric with silvery grey stars).

I also finished a couple of little wallhangings but I didn't take photos of them yet. You can see them on my latest Flosstube video here.

Today I will work on this cute little project. It is called Broom Sisters by Lindy Stitches. I have finished almost half of the project Stitched and was tickled that this design included a black featherweight sewing machine - how could I resist?!?

That is the recap of what has been going on here this week. What have you been up to? Have you finished all the Halloween projects and candy? What are you hand stitching today?

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. I love that there is a sewing machine in your witch cross stitch project! So cute! You’ve had a very productive October. I finished and donated two quilts to fundraisers this month. November is going to be productive as I am going on two quilt retreats! Happy stitching to you!

  5. Oooh, I like your "Boo Brew"! I've never purchased any of the FQS special boxes but the more I see of them, the more tempted I get. I'm sure they'll get me one day! I got one Halloween quilt project done early but the one I really wanted to complete --- that's been a long time UFO --- did get moved a bit forward but not "fully finished". Guess it goes back in the box until next year!
