We are already at step #4 of the Chilhowie mystery and I am starting to fall behind a wee bit.
I'm not worried as I have been making Bonnie's mystery quilts for many years, and I know that this time of year doesn't have many extra minutes in which to sew. That's okay - it's a long winter and I'll have lots of time after Christmas.
My goal is to at least make a few units of each step. Here are the blocks we've sewn so far in my recycled spinach container. I'll sew a few more QST's from step #3 and move on to step #4.
Are you sewing along? Are you keeping up?
I am downloading the patterns as they come in, but will not make it at this time. I am curious since I have never done a Mystery Quilt. Just how do you pick out your fabrics? I am not a real scrappy quilter. Do you just go with the colors she starts out with in the beginning and try to match the colors with her individual pieces that she provides each week. Just wondering. Hugs
ReplyDeleteDon't feel alone I have printed 3 & 4 but need to get my presents wrapped first and a few other Christmas jobs completed. I also will have time after the holidays!
ReplyDeleteI seem to just stay behind, but I've got finished pieces from each step, except 4. But I've got pieces cut to make a few HSTs tomorrow. I just keep making parts till I reach my counts. So far I've only managed to finish up the 4 patches from step 1. As you say, it is hard to keep up this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI haven't even started yet. I'm hoping to start in January after I've finished my rainbow scrap challenge projects.
ReplyDeleteYou are making progress, a little at a time. Have fun!
