Design Wall Monday

I made some progress this month on my scrappy version of the Primitive Gatherings "Oh say can you sew" quiltalong. This mystery quilt started in April this year and even though it has been a TON of sewing, I love it's scrappiness and am happy I started it.

I haven't finished sewing all the sashing units yet, but I started constructing a few rows to see how it's going to look. My goal in starting this mystery quilt was to use up my stash of reproduction fabrics. It's not really my preference anymore since I seem drawn to brighter colours. But wow I am delighted with the reduction in this stash!

This project has to be put away for this month to make creative space in my brain for Christmas tasks, but watch for it to re-appear in 2023!

  8. Beautiful quilt. Just read your recent posts and saw your cross stitching, very pretty and beautiful stitches. I am subscribed to a couple flosstube channels and listen/watch while stitching sometimes. Mine are Country Stitchers, Liz and Deb who talk about lots of things, Brenda and the Serial Starter, Brenda and Laura, who also chat about interesting things, and the Saltbox Stitcher, Carol who also shares her wonderful quilts with us. Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch is also lovely and shares her quilting too. So you get a nice variety of projects being chatted about. There are many who divide their program into cross stitching and quilting. Anyway, so much fun on the net!!

  10. You are making great progress with this one, and I laughed when you said you had moved on from repro fabrics to brighter colors......I am still stuck in repro land, and I love it. This is a beautiful design, but full of lots of little pieces of fabric (which I love, or course). Hope it gets finished in early 2023. Hugs, Judy
