mini quilt layout |
I keep the pressing mat right beside the sewing machine and start sewing from one side. There is a pin in every block on the right to make sure the row stays the right way up.
I pick up sections to sew together and feed them through the sewing machine, one after the other until all the rows are completed. If I get the top together today, I might just have enough time to finish the quilting and binding by the end of the month and meet my goal!
For some quilty inspiration, hop over to Wendy's blog to see the amazing quarantine quilt she made called "Community Supper". It's a masterpiece... and I'm not just saying that because one of my blocks is part of her quilt!
Sweet small sewing, Kathy!!
ReplyDeleteYour tiny pieces are always amazing! Looking forward to seeing your finished mini.
ReplyDeleteSo tiny! I'm sure you will finish it in time!
ReplyDeleteI've just taken a look at 'community supper'. It is an amazing quilt! I tried to guess which block was yours?
ReplyDeleteI like to make Mini's out of blocks that I have made (small ones) and use them to cover my machines, or whatever. This one will be pretty Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a cute little quilt. Sewing 4-patches together can be tedious but you make it look like fun. Which block is yours in "Community Suppper"?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use the pin to mark the end of the row! Your mini will be so pretty! Even our "throw-away" pieces have beauty to offer. Nice. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a block in the Community Supper too. I enjoyed looking at all the links with the mini's. I am making one for a challenge. It's coming together nicely.
ReplyDeleteSuch tiny pieces and oh so sweet! I love it finished or not! I will link in this post and change it when I see the finished quilt. Thanks for another great mini!
ReplyDeleteThis will be a delightful monthly mini. I think I'd better start making mine. :)
ReplyDeleteWendy's Community Supper is amazing!
