2020 Fail!

Well, 2020 has been a dismal experience so far. Just after midnight on New Year's Eve I started to feel sick, and it was a miserable and violent norovirus that had invaded my body. Today it feels like I will actually survive, and only the headache and weakness remain. It has been a brutal start to this decade.

While I have been laying in bed waiting to feel better, I have been dreaming about the projects I want to work on this year. I have been participating in One Monthly Goal for a couple of years now and it has been very helpful in finishing up old projects ... thanks to Patti for hosting the link up. Last year I had 14 UFOs on my list and 7 quilts were finished. Pretty awesome!

This month I want to finish my "Chocolate Dance" quilt. It was made from the leftovers of the Square Dance Mystery (also still a UFO!)

Chocolate Dance

It was on the 2019 UFO list for last year but didn't get any attention. I have a piece of brown minkee for the backing, and it will be my first attempt at quilting with this kind of fabric.
Linking up to One Monthly Goal.

  1. Sorry to hear that 2020 has hit you with a bad card. Hope you'll feel better soon. Chicken soup is always the best thing and rest of course. Good luck with the cold and your goal for January. ;^)

  10. I know what you went through. I had it last Sunday. Spent the whole day in bed and it wasn't until just after noon the next day that I started to feel human again. It went through the whole family just before and just after Christmas. Have fun with your new/old projects.

  14. Sorry you’re feeling poorly. My 2020 got off to a similar start with the worst asthma attack of my life. I’m feeling better today. Hope you are on the mend as well.

  16. Oh no, that norovirus must have derailed your usual New Year's Day sew along. There seems to be a lot of sickness going away everywhere this early in the season. Hope you are on the mend.

  17. Poor you! I’ve had norovirus twice and it is absolutely horrid! You have my deepest sympathy. Hopefully by tomorrow you should be feeling more like yourself and less wretched. Best wishes from me. 😊

  20. Kathy: Chocolate Dance is lovely.
I too am suffering from norovirus, it is a shame how this illness keeps us down, I am gaining my strength again finally.
I hope you are back to yourself very soon.

  23. The problem with not reading ahead before you comment on an older post is not seeing what's happened since that post in question. So sorry you ended up sick for the New Year. Hoping that's the worst you get this year. Good luck with your OMG this month.

  25. I hope you are well by now. The trick to quilting with Minkee is to spray baste it (well).
