Slow Sunday Stitching Goals

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party! Pull up a chair, make a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoy a few moments visiting hand stitchers around the world. It's so fun to see the creative ideas that other folks are working on.

Since it's the first link up of the year, I'm thinking about the top 3 hand stitching projects that I'd like to focus on in 2019.

1) "I Stitch" BOM by Gail Pan -  Many happy hours were spent last year stitching these sweet little blocks. I have a few more designs to embroider and am still thinking about how I want to put these blocks together.

2) Life is Beautiful - This has been one of my favourite projects for the past 4 years. I have greatly enjoyed each step along the way... the hand embroidery, appliquéing all the circles, and hand quilting the blocks. I would like to finish the quilting this year and get started on the process of joining the blocks together in the quilt-as-you-go style.

3) I intend to continue the hand quilting on my oldest UFO. I still enjoy the process and do make slow and steady progress throughout the winter.

We thank you for all the ways in which you contribute to Slow Sunday Stitching...
by joining the linky party with your blog posts, by visiting the stitchers who've linked up, and by encouraging them with your comments. We all know that when you've been working on a hand made project for years, it does help to increase the motivation to continue when someone cheers you on!
Let's see what your hands are stitching at the beginning of  2019!

  1. Most of my hand stitching projects aren't large quilts (right now). I have a few in process, but didn't think to make a list. I'll have to think about that this week in study hall...

  3. love seeing your quilt on your hoop and how you have that area set up - what kind of light is that you have by it. Looks like a little spotlight - maybe I have seen one similar on Bonnie H.'s site?

    1. It's an Ikea Jansjo lamp, perfect to provide a pool of light exactly where you are stitching!

  6. I guess I should make my list of UFO that I would like to finish this year. The quilt cupboard is getting too full and I may need to purge. Can't imagine how that advertisement would read "to a good home...quilts!"Must provide references!! haha Of course I would keep them all but hubby says there are too many!!

  7. You're all set up for projects for the year Kathy! I need to add an embroidery project to my "Bucket List" because I'd love to renew my skills in that craft and I see so many lovely ones I'd like to make.

  12. Thanks for keeping the party going. I throughly love seeing what others are doing. You are so right about your projects they may seem slow going but with a few stitches each week they will be done before you know it!

  13. I agree with, Carla, thank you for keeping the party going! I'm sure it's a bunch of work, but I so enjoy it! I like your idea of focusing on three hand stitched projects! You know, it's been a joy seeing your progress on the ones you mentioned! Looking forward to continuing this year!
