The big reveal of the Quiltville mystery was posted on Friday. It's a very beautiful and complex design, with two alternating blocks and a few pieced borders.
I had been sewing half the units in an effort to keep up with the mystery adventure over the holidays and thought I would just make a smaller lap quilt. But I really like how the finished quilt looks, so the plan of the moment is to keep making more blocks for a larger quilt.
I had enough part and pieces to sew 24 blocks and here they are on the design wall. I would like to make 11 more blocks for a layout of 5 blocks across and 7 blocks down.
This will be a good project to sew at quilt retreat so it might go into storage until then.

Great! I really like this quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove your colors! Great progress - I am amazed at how much everyone has gotten finished since Friday!
ReplyDeleteI just love the grand reveal of this pattern! Mine is on hold for a bit too as I have a baby quilt to finish off first! But, hope to keep it on one of my sewing tables just to sew a quick block or two in between! I have about a dozen blocks together, so a good start :-). I have all the units completed for the whole quilt so that'll help. Great idea to do it at a retreat!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks very nice. Have a good stitching week!
ReplyDeleteThis year's design is just great! I like the mustard/gold you used in place of orange.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I love the colors.

I've never done a BH QAL but I sure do enjoy seeing them take shape. Yours is absolutely gorgeous in those colors!
ReplyDeleteI am making the whole quilt and have 10 more of the red/orange blocks to construct then will start to put it together - I am kind of on a roll with it right now and think I will keep going with it so I can get it off my table and then start to organize the room as I had planned.
ReplyDeleteI’m seeing more and more of these in my on-line travels. Love the colors you’ve chosen for yours.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI really like the gold in place of the orange - good color choice!
ReplyDeletewow - you have so much done already - great colors
ReplyDeleteI love your colors.....I would definitely make it larger.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pleasing design. Yours would make a great Christmas quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteYours looks beautiful! I have to get going on mine again today. I have 2 rows worth of blocks together.
ReplyDeleteThis will be a real beauty!
ReplyDeleteI like your BH mystery quilt colors. It is so hard for me to pick colors when I don't know what the final layout will be. Good job! Also, I'm intrigued by the batting/strip quilting. I shall have to try that. When you add the backing, do you quilt a little bit to hold that part to the strips?
ReplyDeleteI love the color combination on you Good Fortune quilt. I is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
