It's a boring looking design wall today. These are the neutral 4 patch blocks for step #1 of the Quiltville mystery. Bonnie recommended that if you want your finished quilt to be a smaller size (smaller than 87" square), it is a good idea to make half the blocks and that is what I'm going to do for this mystery project. So here are almost half of the recommended number of blocks. 
I have enjoyed cutting and sewing these neutrals from the Good Neighbours fabric line, but am looking forward to cutting into all the other fabrics and get some contrast going in the next step.

I have also done some "practice sewing" with no bobbin thread.... My new machine stops dead when the bobbin runs out. I have not started my mystery four patches yet. Hoping to have time to get started on that.

ReplyDeletethe empty bobbin thing has happened to me too! I will wait until the mystery is finished and see if I like it - I don't like the color scheme so wonder on it - if I like it I can make in a different color scheme.

ReplyDeleteIronically...I too had to run a few four patches through my 301 a second time. I was just happily sewing away and patches were falling to the floor behind the machine. I am doing the full size.

ReplyDeleteLook at you go! I am always pretty frustrated when I find I have "stitched" a bunch of units with no thread. At that point I often have to step away from the machine for a bit. : )
ReplyDeleteAir Stitching isn't a good thing. I did it too. Next time I'll change to make sure I start with a FULL Bobbin! Fun Mondays and Fridays to share with my Blogging friends! I'm excited to watch this Mystery emerge with you and the rest of Quilville!

ReplyDeleteWe call that 'practice stitching'. Most of the time I can catch it pretty quick, but, not always. It's worse if you had to pin something, and forget to check if there is thread in the bobbin, as you pull all those pins out.
