I had some friends over to sew the Quiltbug Super Bowl Mystery quilt called Peekaboo.
Here are the fabrics I started with which are way, way far away from the recommended colourways. But I really wanted to use up stash fabric, and it was a challenge to get the necessary yardage.
Here are the blocks from the 4 of us who sewed the mystery. We each chose very different colours. The one closest to the recommended colourway is the floral pink, green, and yellow which is the column of blocks second from the left.
It was a great day of sewing and these are some of the possible layouts I came up with using my blocks.
layout #1 |
layout #2 |
layout #3 |
layout #4 |
layout #5 |
I just love the first two. The top design has such a great secondary pattern while the second looks like flowers. Great progress. Such a fun way to spend time during the super bowl
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend Super Bowl Sunday. I must say I am partial to the first layout. I look forward to seeing which way you end up going with it.
ReplyDeleteI like # 3 a lot--the diagonals are neat...with those crosses...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI like 4 or 5. They look like dragonflies to me. I did sew in the afternoon and the evening was movie night with hubby! No football fans in this house!
ReplyDeleteI vote #3. It is interesting that we all like something different. It's what makes the world go around. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI trimmed HST's and tore papers out of blocks while I watched. Multi-tasking!
ReplyDeleteLayout #1 and #3 are my favorites. Layout #5 is rather interesting too. Mysteries are fun. Sandi
ReplyDeleteI vote for #1 but I do like #3 almost as much and I am also drawn to #5 so I guess I am no help
ReplyDeleteI like layout #3. I listened to an audiobook until it was time for Downton Abbey and Mercy Street -- sewing all the while.
ReplyDeleteI like #1 the best :)
ReplyDeleteI can already tell that there's not going to be a "winner" and that all the layouts will be someone's favorite. I like #3.
ReplyDeleteTough call--I love chains, but I also love diagonal patterns.
ReplyDeleteIt is so clever the way the one block looks like a corner is folded back and the color is darker on the other side.
So many great choices. My pick would be #1.
ReplyDeleteCute blocks. I think layout 3 is interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think you need another row of blocks for the chain type layout in the first one. My fav is the zig zag one in layout #3. How fun to sew with Friends. I was at Church most of my day and didn't watch the whole game...not a fan of EITHER team. I saw a couple of the commercials and wasn't impressed much. Seahawks fan for life!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had lots of fun sewing yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are very pretty!
Several great layouts to choose from but my favorite is the first option.
I'm sure your quilt will look beautiful whatever you decide.
I love layout #1 and #5. The colors are great
ReplyDeletelove #1
ReplyDeleteLayout 1!
ReplyDeleteLayout #1. I always enjoy seeing all the different colorways people choose.
ReplyDeleteLayout one would have been my pick, but it's too late for my opinion now...lol
