It's a wonderful feeling to finish a quilt!
And this finish is especially delicious, since the quilt was made in about a month (you can read about the start of this quilt here). Also great is that this is a total scrap quilt. Everything from the blocks, to the batting, and the backing were constructed from leftovers from other quilting projects!
This was a joy to sew, to quilt and to finish!
Pattern by Jackie Syer at FRJ Designs.
Finished size: 50" x 64"
I should be cutting the grass today after work but instead, I plan to sit under my beautiful tree, snuggle up in my scrappy quilt, enjoy a cup of tea, and read a good book.
I love the design and look of this one. Great quilt to cozy up with.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! A perfect fall quilt! :0)
ReplyDeleteWise woman to choose snuggling up in your pretty newly finished quilt while you can still be able to read outside. Those days are limited. A good book is a nice reward.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt! I love the scrappy quilt and the fact that EVERYTHING -- even the batting was scraps. Can we see the back? Relax and enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy...I have not had time to even glance at a book lately! Wonderful finish, Kathy! I'm glad I was there to see the start of this quilt! Did you get your next pattern yet?

ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous colour in that tree! We don't get many deciduous trees, so we miss out on the beautiful autumn colours. Very impressive finish.

ReplyDeleteOh, the lawn will be there another day. Enjoy the moment.
I hope you were just leaning out a window or over a deck railing to get that last photo, and not doing something crazy like climbing a power pole. It is a great shot!
gorgeous! Can we see the back?
ReplyDeleteGreat finish. I'm amazed at how quickly you are able to quilt and finish up a top. Let's hope the rain eases up so you can have some time to read outdoors. Your photo is great. The quilt looks like foliage for the tree.
