Can you believe it is already the middle of August?
On my design wall today is my UFO of the month.
I haven't made much progress yet. The first part of the month is always the "thinking" part. It takes time to decide what the next steps are and what supplies are needed.
I trimmed down the sides of the quilt and added an inner border using up all of my remaining scraps from the Fandango line.
Now I can't decide on the outer border. I don't want to piece something complex because this will not be a quilt that I keep.
I just want to finish it, so adding a solid chunk to the outside will let me get on to the quilting part. I have purchased a batting, and a backing that just needs to be washed, and then I can get this old UFO finished!

A red border might look nice :)
ReplyDeleteAny progress is good progress. I like the inner border.
ReplyDeleteMy hexi quilt is on my design wall today also. Thanks for the push. ;)
I love the idea of putting a UFO on the design wall each month to work on and play with. Keeps things fresh and moving forward. Thanks! ~Melanie
ReplyDeleteIf this wern't a giveaway how would you quilt the hexies? I am thinking of a larger hexi pattern and need ideas. My fav quilts are scrappy. I will be doing the next mystery with Quiltville !!G
ReplyDeleteYou're working on #12 this month, I see. Can hardly wait to see it DONE. Happy Quilting.
ReplyDeleteI think a "one chunk" border will look fine on this! : )
ReplyDeleteHow large are these hexies?
Oh love it Kathy! Just so pretty, and so close to finished!
ReplyDeleteI'd use a darker border. That way the light hexies will be highlighted. Congratulations on using up all the scraps. That is a rare event indeed.
ReplyDeleteThis one is really pretty and appealing! Love the lights and darks!
ReplyDeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteUnless you need to make the quilt bigger, it looks finished to me. Just a dark binding after quilting and it's done.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this will soon be a finish. Go girl! Looking forward to seeing the final quilt...it is already so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGood progress! You have some more month left :)
ReplyDeletelooking good, have you sewn these hexies on the machine or are they hand sewn. Find doing them on the machine very tricky unless they are quite big and have not attempted them under 3" on the machine not a good result!
ReplyDeleteHexceptional - love it to bits, after all I am addicted to hexies.
ReplyDeleteSomeone earlier suggested a red border, I think that would look great. Good luck on deciding on that last step.
ReplyDeleteDoes it need more than that? It's pretty.
