Red Bindings

I have been making a little bit if progress on a few different projects this week, and tonight found me cutting binding strips for 3 quilts, which all just happened to be red!
These bindings will be for Plaid Beauty, Celtic Solstice, and Nabby's Dowry. What are the chances that they all need a red binding?!?

I also pieced a backing for Nabby's Dowry and used up almost every bit of fabric that came in the kit. I want to get this one finished because Pam Buda  has started another little mystery called Market Day Sew-along. But I promised/bribed myself that I wouldn't start the new one until I finished the last one. It's not too late for me (or you!) to start and catch up, but I have to quickly get this one finished first! Wish me luck!

  1. Love those red bindings! Can't wait to see those finished quilts.

I bought some fabrics for Pam Buda's Market Day but since we're gone through so much of it, I'm just saving up the steps and will do it later. I haven't found another blogger who's following along right now. ;-)

  4. Red binding just makes for a finally POP to a quilt. I haven't started Pam's new sew along yet either, but think it will be an easy catch up.

  6. I am saving the Instructions for Market Day. I did get Nabby's Dowry quilted but I should un-sew the stitching- bobbin and tension wasn't good on the back. I'm still learning to use my "Betsy"! That's why I haven't posted the Finish of it.

  10. Something tells me you like red quite a lot :) I'm not surprised at all that all three quilts are calling for red bindings. It is such a bright, bold color and it sets off others fabrics beautifully :)

  11. Isn't it funny how sometimes you have a number of quilts made with a similar color scheme.
