The UFO I decided to work on this month is a small quilt made from a John Flynn laser cut kit. I really enjoyed sewing these little blocks together (click here to see how small they are).I finished sewing the quilt top together 3 years ago, and then stopped at the border decision stage. Ugh!So my first step will be to purchase border fabrics.
Oh too bad ... I have to go shopping now!

You did such a good job making those blocks so accurately! Well done! I'm pleased to hear that you are going to buy a border fabric for it to get it finished, as it deserves to be on show!

ReplyDeleteI love a SAS pattern and hope to do one someday... they no longer have that pattern for your cute little quilt... maybe some fun darker/lighter batik with a dark/light binding will work out for you for this cutie! Or you could knife edge such a small wall hanging for a different kind of finish :) Would look lovely on this little thing :) Happy stitching and thanks for sharing your UFO! Kathi

ReplyDeleteI took a class from John Flynn maybe 20 years ago. I haven't heard anything about him in quite a while. Wonder if he is still making quilts.

ReplyDeleteOh my! They are TINY! Love the colors! You did an excellent job piecing this quilt. Did I say the pieces were tiny? I get stuck on borders too, in fact I know I will have trouble deciding on sashing and borders for my Little Basket quilt I am working on now. Happy shopping!

LOVE and am astonished at the teensy Storm at Sea quilt you did in 2011! It has always been one of my favourite patterns. Not in this size, however, LOL!
