Kate Plus Kaffe!

TGIF!
I am getting organized for a guild class tomorrow and can hardly wait!
I hope my fabrics will "work", but if they don't, that's okay. I love them, so sewing with them will be fun no matter how it all turns out.
The light greens I won in a blog draw from Kate Spain on St. Patrick's Day. Surely that must mean that the luck of the Irish will be with me!?! The greens will be my "background" fabrics. I might not include that yellowy green at the top since it kind of shouts at me in this picture.

And the brights are Kaffe Fassett fabrics from Hyggeligt Fabrics
They will be my "focus" fabrics.

What do you think?
Too loud?
Too bright?
Just right?!?

  2. You have some fun fabrics selected. I'm with Gina, there is no such thing as too bright. Looking forward to seeing this project come together.

  5. Absolutely just right....although maybe audition that top green one over to the right-hand side to see if it plays nicer that way?

  6. Lovely. If you think the yellow is shouting at you do you think the pink next to it is too? They may be that little surprise pop of color you need.

  9. I like it. Besides the green you are considering leaving out, I wonder about the focus fabric that is second from the bottom on the right ... it looks like it might blend with your backgrounds more than contrast. (of course, I'm only looking at a tiny strip of it).

  10. Seriously, you expect your fabrics to play nicely? : )
I think the top green will add a nice dimension to the background, but what do I know?

  11. Very nice selections! Love all the 'hot' colors. Do you know what the pattern will be or is it a mystery? Looking forward to seeing what you do. Have a great time!

  12. I'm just thinking about my first PPM and the two different green colour ways I had in the quilt, one in the blue green tones and one in the yellowy tones. When I had the fabrics lined up as you do they looked okay but when I tried to put the quilt together it just grated and screamed at me. I ended up making two quilts one with the yellowy greens and one with the blue greens. I can't help but notice that you have three blue greens among all the yellowy greens. I hope you don't end up feeling as I did. Other than that, I love the brights.

  13. Absolutely Just Right - without the yellowy green one at the top of course :*)

  14. Your other option might be to add a few more of that yellowy-green so that it becomes a design element to give you some POP. However, quilts with KF fabrics rarely need additional POP LOL!!!!

  15. Great fabrics!! I can't wait to see what you are making with these. I agree that top green is really looking yellow in the photo, but sometimes it is hard to know about a fabric till you actually use in a quilt. It might be just what the quilt 'needs' or it might look glaring out of place.

  17. You are very brave. I don't seem to do quilts with that much colour. Maybe one day! Do you know what the project is...mystery? Can't wait to see what you get into!

  19. Your playing with Brights and neutrals so it all depends on the pattern. Is this a Mystery class? Have fun!
