Green Scrappy Saturday

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilters are working with green scraps this month. I have a lot of green scraps around here just waiting to be sewn into a quilt block.
The sight of fresh green grass and plants reappearing, after the white and grey of such a long winter, is a welcomed sight. The trilliums are growing and although the leaves are not out on the trees yet, there is lots of green appearing outside my window... and inside my sewing room!

I finished sewing a few 1" strips into double 9 patch blocks for my Omigosh quilt. These are so cute! I also finished up a blue block and a purple block from previous challenge months. I counted my finished Omigosh double 9 patches... I have 41 blocks done and I need 110, so only a few more to go! LOL

Here are the renegade blue and purple blocks, plus a couple of Maverick star blocks that are fun to sew and use up 2.5" scraps.

I also cut up batik scraps for more Alamo Star blocks to use as leader/enders this month. Don't they look cute all organized on my sewing machine?
Hop over to SoScrappy and see what other quilters are sewing with their green scraps.

  2. Every time I see more of your Omigosh blocks, the more I love them! While I like counting my blocks so I know when to stop, it can be a little discouraging when there's still so many yet to be done. Patience is NOT my middle name (which seems odd, I know, because I love hand quilting and EPP ... both of which require a lot of patience).

  6. Love it all--green is a welcome color as the plants are greening up. And then to have it followed by purple 9-patches. I love those colors together.
All of your little scrap projects just make me smile!!

  9. Congrats on your win--still petting mine and not sure yet what I'll do with the lovelies. You always have so many irons in the fire yet you get lots done! And all so pretty.

  11. You have the patience of Job working with 1" strips and such tiny blocks. Mind you they ARE cute. I draw the line at 2" - anything smaller than that goes to a friend who, like you, is happy to use them.
