I have been slowly (and I mean at the speed of a turtle!) hand quilting the cables on the border on my Journey quilt. I don't have any new photos this week... this is an old one.
I wonder if I am slowing down now because I know the Journey quilt is almost done, and it's a little bit sad.
Hope you can inspire me this week to pick up my project and cross the finish line!
What are you working on? Link up your blog post below...
Your quilt will be fantastic, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of it finished, soon. I'm working on my slow stitches now, and will make a blog post this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteWasn't able to get any stitching today. Spent most of it in the car picking up, dropping off, visiting people from school, hospital & family.
ReplyDeleteI have just sat down and I am exhausted.
It is sad to finish up a quilt sometimes. We spend so many hours with them! Although a finish is very nice. I've been slow stitching myself lately, and I don't feel very productive!
ReplyDeleteI will try reverse psychology. Put that darn thing away and don't look at it for six months!
ReplyDeleteDid that work :)
I quilted a quilt for a friend of mine (she had pieced it and it had been a UFO)... I slowed down at the end of that one like you are... just didn't want to finish her wonderfully pieced quilt! lol Happy binding is in your future :) Thanks for the linky... it is my fave Sunday place to share! Kathi
ReplyDeleteYou encouraged me about how quick the cable goes. You were right! You sent me positive energy and it worked. Now I send you positive cable energy.
ReplyDeleteLast week your cable post got me to try one on my little block. It looks great - thanks for the inspiration. My hand work bag is way too empty - just has my QSAB and another little hand quilting project. Thats it! I really miss my peel project... maybe I'll have to start another? Get back to your cables.... I'm sure there is another quilt waiting in the wings anxious for you to finish this one so it can get some attention. =) Happy stitching.
ReplyDeleteI never have had that problem ... but most of my quilts have been for my daughter and her family and I'm always excited to be able to gift the quilt and see their excitement. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll be posting in a little while ... thanks for hosting this party!
there have been times when I think I purposely slowed down to draw out a finish as well. Do you have another project ready to take its place? usually I make sure when I am getting close to the end of a large quilting project that I have another to take its place
ReplyDeleteI always slow down right at the end. I really don't know why, but I think down deep I don't want the journey to end. Starting a new project always brings some stress until we decide how the quilting design and whether we like what we choose. I always say it is like saying good bye to a good friend.
ReplyDeleteI totally can appreciate how tough it can be to finish a project just because you'll be sad to be done stitching. But it's going to be beautiful and instead of stitching on it, you can wrap up in it and marvel and snuggle!! Can't wait to see a finish!! :)
ReplyDeleteSnowing again today, so I will be working on more hexagons. Good to see you are still stitching your journey quilt.
ReplyDeleteI rotate so many projects so I never know if I'm slowing down!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the rush if you are enjoying the journey?
I know the feeling. The quilting on my daughter's Peanuts quilt is progressing quite slowly. Keep it up the end is in sight and the you just have to enjoy the accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteYes it is sad to finish one but just think of the new projects that you can start hand quilting on...so many to do!!! So come on let's go, do your happy dance of doneness and move onto the next one!!!
