Super Sewl Sunday

We had a great time at Super Sewl Sunday today! I invited some brave quilting friends to join in the fun, and three of them took me up on the offer.
My sister come over to help us with our pressing for a while, and we REALLY liked having her help. But she had other plans for the afternoon, so then we were on our own.  It's amazing that we had the same fabric requirements, and these are our starting blocks, which are so different from each other!

We had a lot of great super sewl food, and could hardly get a good photo without the food in the way! Joanne brought a new (to me) fruit called a "Dragon Fruit" that matched my fabrics and that was so cool!

Here is my finished quilt top, which turned out great! I used colours that my daughter would love, and I have some great ideas to change it up a bit with some applique.
You can't really see the flange insert that was part of the last step, but that was a fun twist in the directions, and added a little sparkle to the quilts.
Here we all are with our finished quilt tops.
Gail (whose quilt top is on the design wall) has never sewn a mystery quilt before, so that was an extra challenging (and hopefully fun) day for her. She did a great job to keep up with the mystery veterans!
What a fun Super Sewl Sunday! A huge thank you to Kris at QuiltBug for the wonderful mystery quilt day! The steps were timed perfectly and we each had a finished quilt top by the end of the day.
Now bring on Downton Abbey and some hand quilting!

I have never seen that fruit, either. How cool that it matched your quilt--too pretty to eat! Did it taste good?
