One of my leader/ender projects is the HST quilt I accidentally started while at quilt retreat in the winter. You can read more about the inspiration and fabrics here, and read about the book and the quilt I am making (called "Up, Up and Away") here. You can take a peek at another beautiful version of this quilt by Quilt 'n Queen.
I tried to make the HST blocks in a "liberated" fashion but they look pretty OCD/perfect to me! LOL
It is a fresh, summery, no-pressure project that perks me up whenever I work on it. I have all the HST's made, and have sewn most of them into pairs.
Then I went ahead and started making 4 patch blocks...
sewed 2 of the 4 patches together,
and then sewed those together into double 4 patch blocks.
So each design unit block has 16 HST's.
I plan to just keep sewing these until I use up the HST's. I wonder how big this quilt will end up being?!
Very summery. Have fun watching your HST garden grow.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty splash of sunshine on your blocks! That will be a fun one to quilt up by hand and admiring your pretty fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics and design...looks like such a fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a Bonus Quilt! Bonnie Hunter would be so proud of you. I am saving my Bonus Triangles to make an Ocean Wave someday...I have a few more UFO and PHD's to get quilted before that happens though :/
ReplyDeleteI love to use leaders and Enders. What a beautiful quilt this will be! I am going to guess queen size. If you are like me I always make too many blocks.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun to watch your progress on this one, Kathie! It's going to be a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHI! This is going to be such a pretty quilt! Love that particular white on white fabric with the colored hst's!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY QUILTING!

No matter it will be a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric selection - so warm and happy! My sister has this book and is making the cover quilt (I want to steal it - yes, the book AND the quilt!).
ReplyDeleteLove love love Leader/Enders. Working on my Split 9 Patches now - they are trying to take over my life but I'm resisting.
Love your quilt already! Wonderful fresh fabrics!
ReplyDeleteA lovely project and leaders and enders are so much fun. They can tend to take over for me, they forget they are supposed to be the secondary project!! Have fun :-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a wonderful project to play with. And white together with fresh colorful fabric, could it be better. I love it
