Slow Stitching Sunday

This week I have focused my hand stitching efforts on finishing my June UFO. I started making the blocks two years ago (click here to read about the inspiration and beginning of project). I am finishing it in the "quilt-as-you-go" style and stitching the seams by hand. You can check out this great QAYG tutorial by Andrea which shows the technique that I am using.

Today I will be stitching these seams while enjoying these peonies (my favorite June flower). If it rains, the blooms will probably be finished for this year, so I'm hoping for a sunny day.

What are you hand stitching today? I hope you will have some time for relaxing hand stitching...
and take some time to smell the flowers!
Link up your hand stitching blog post below - we love to see what you're creating!

  3. Have the prep work done, so planning to start piecing some LeMoyne Stars. Looking forward to the relaxation of it! Hope you have a sunny day and enjoy the peonies-they don't grow where I live, so I have to enjoy them vicariously!

  5. Hum, instead of sewing by either hand or machine I am browsing blogs. Your peonies are beautiful. Ours have come and gone now. On to roses, cone flowers, daisies and vegetables down here. Keep working on your quilt as you go project.

  6. I've not tried quilt-as-you go, but after looking at the tutorial it looks like something I might want to try. Your peonies are beautiful. We just had 3 days of rain and I was surprised that my peonies weren't ruined, but we have another couple days of rain in the forecast, so I'm sure that will be the last of mine.
