This is the same project that was on my design wall last week - this month's UFO. I spent a lot of time auditioning various sashing strips. I thought I liked white until I found the perfect blue. I joined the strips by machine on the front of the quilt, and am hand stitching the back seams. There is one more week left in the month to get a hanging sleeve on and finish the binding - totally doable...a "finish" is on the horizon!

Yes, it does look like the perfect blue. Great job.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great, and I love that bright blue sashing.
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on. The white looked nice but now that you have added the blue sashing the quilt has really come to life.
ReplyDeleteThe blue is perfect. Are the pieces put on using raw edge applique?
ReplyDeleteGreat blue sashing, it really ties everything together. It really pays to audition fabrics first.

ReplyDeleteLove your quilt. It is striking with all the bright colors and yes, you have chosen the right color for the sashing. After I made the comment asking you to tell us how you created the blocks, I noticed you had already explained about the quilt in a previous post. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI sent you an email offering some teeny tiny HSTs. Let me know if you want them.
Yes, on the Perfect Blue! Thanks for the reminder, LOL. I sewed my brains out, as Bonnie Hunter would say- at a Quilt Retreat. Time to rest and un-pack now.
