"easy street" turned into
"difficult street"!
Honestly...what experienced quilter in her right mind would do such a thing?!?
I still can't believe I did that!
Then I did some of this...
gave the seam ripper a good workout and
presto...that's much better!
Three rows done and four rows still to go, which will hopefully go together EASIER! This will likely be the largest quilt I've made so far. I bought the backing on the weekend, so I'm ready to finish the top.

Wow...this is so very pretty! I love the addition of the grey...it makes it look so modern now as the modern trend is grey with brights! I have decided perhaps I need to do one of those this year...grey with brights. We'll see if I get to it! I would say this is a stunning quilt you have here!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat is it about sewing blocks together at an angle, I've done this exact thing multiple times! I love how this is coming together, very very pretty.

ReplyDeleteFunny. The night I was sewing mine together I thought I had done that. I just left it and the next morning discovered that the problem was that I was trying to do it but hadn't. My center is done. Are you putting borders on yours?

ReplyDeletenothing looks easy about this quilt, and I have made mistakes in some that I didn't catch until they were done. LOL enjoy your week, and I think a bit of wine makes it that much better!

ReplyDeleteMaking mistakes builds character. So what if you don't want to be a character! I love how your ES is coming along. I'm debating setting mine straight rather than on point. Won't need to make that decision for quite a while though.

ReplyDeleteThanks for making the BOO BOO so I don't have to make that same mistake and have to RIP-IT! I'll have to check and re-check so I don't. Pinning will be fun too, lots of non-nesting seams possible...I call mine Busy Street!

ReplyDeleteYour Easy Street is very pretty! I haven't even finished cutting for mine yet. Just wanted to point out (before you get to the quilting stage!) you have a wayward goose on the triangle you had to turn around.

ReplyDeleteIt has been a 'trying' project on some late evenings when I'm tired.
We have all done it (or worse)! You and I are at the same spot for assembly. I would be thrilled to have my top together by the weekend!

ReplyDeleteI finished my Easy Street quilt top. It is the largest quilt top I have tried to make. And yes. I used my seam ripper a LOT. For me, this was not as easy quilt top to make. I was determined not to let it defeat me. I kept plugging away. I'm ready to piece the backing and finish it up. At the moment I decided to take a break from it, sew on some other projects.
