Saturday Blue Scraps

It is BLUE month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (lots of inspiration on this page link!) What quilter doesn't have a ton of blue scraps?!?
Each month this year I have been sewing a Knot block from the 100 blocks magazine using the colour of the month from SoScrappy. This month, I have enough blue scraps to make THREE blocks. The dark blue block is finished!
Last night was Friday Night Sew-In and my friend Barb came to help me celebrate, I mean, help me sew, and I did make some progress on my Knots.
Each block has 56 little 1.5" squares, so I have cut more than 170 different blue squares...WOW! The next two blocks (aqua and light/grey blue) are getting organized.
What scrappy fun are you up to this weekend?!?
Hop over to SoScrappy to see other blue scrap posts, and to FNSI to see what over 100 quilters around the world were working on last night.

  6. Beautiful blue knots, Kathy--I especially like the cool aqua colors. Have you made more than one in any other color? I don't recall.

  10. I keep checking out your knots to see if we have any of the same fabrics. So far I don't think so! I had no idea there were so many pieces in each block - but they're worth it!

  11. I love that pattern and the different blues you are using. I tell people I don't have a favorite color, but secretly I know it is blue. I keep my scraps in tubs, and it takes one jumbo tub and two reg tubs for all my blues. All the other colors fit in one reg tub, and I have purple & orange sharing a tub,,,,,so I guess just a glance at my "shelf of tubs" is enough to prove which is is my favorite.

I enjoyed reading through your blog this morning and signed on as a follower. Thanks for checking mine out too! I did not see a BeAttitudes quilt on here - are you making one?

  12. Every month you show these, the itch to make them increases! 1.5" and 2.5" units..... who doesn't have THOSE on hand at all times?!?! :D
Thanks for sharing the 1.5" measurement; I may just have to tinker with my scraps.

THANKS for the motivation! Can't wait to see all your blocks together.

  15. I don't have a lot of blue scraps. I used so many of them in a recent project. I would have to get into stash and cut to make blocks like yours. Love all those blues.

  16. I always have lots of blue too. These blocks are pretty, and you are so smart to make at least one of each color as the year goes on. YOu will have a gorgeous quilt when finished.
