Scrappy Saturday

It's the last Saturday of the month and we'll soon be getting a new colour of scraps to play with for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge :) I spent some relaxing time (in between machine quilting) piecing these red, white and blue scraps together. No fabric was purchased for this quilt top. It was created from my scraps, plus the scraps of 3 of my quilting friends (we call ourselves "The Sew 'n Sews").
The pattern is Bricks and Stepping Stones by Bonnie Hunter. The rows pieced together perfectly...I didn't even need to use pins! Now it just needs a couple of borders and then we'll send it off to the hand quilters.
And I am heading back to the sewing machine to finish the quilting on July's UFO!

  6. It looks wonderful and when the quilting is complete it will make a fabulous donation quilt. I couldn't help but try and take a closer look at all the fabrics. They all look so good together.

  7. This quilt is such a feast for the eyes, with all the fabrics working so well together. I followed your link to Bonnie's instructions -- definitely easy and logical and another to add to my high-as-the-sky bucket list.
    Your version is wonderful!

  8. Love your scrappy quilts a-la-Bonnie H. It's SEW nice to swap fabrics with your buddies and make beautiful things with the fabrics. What memories, just like the old days when ladies used up their old dresses and saved a piece or two to swap with friends.
