Slow Sunday Stitching

In June of 2012 I started a new feature on my blog - a regular Sunday linky party celebrating the art of hand stitching. I had written a blog post (click here to read it) about how much I was enjoying my hand quilting and would benefit from the inspiration of other quilt bloggers who are doing some hand work. Then I had an encounter with a very slow moving teacher (read about her here) which was the inspiration I needed to start Slow Sunday Stitching.

We welcome you to join us every Sunday at the weekly linky party where you can show your projects, or to admire the work of other hand stitchers and cheer them on.  All types of hand work projects are welcome and we love to hear about the slow stitches you are taking, the relaxation you are enjoying, and the life lessons you are learning from your hand stitching.

These are some of my favorite hand stitched projects I have finished:

"Quilter's Blessings" was a red and white BOM (block of the month) started in 2008 and  finished in September 2012 - click here to see it.  Hand embroidered and hand quilted. 

Last year I finished one of my most favorite hand stitched projects called Journey of a Quilter  (pattern by Leanne Beasley). This quilt was hand embroidered and hand quilted, and took 7 years to make.

And in between, I have worked on hand piecing, applique, rug making, binding (love binding!), english paper piecing, embroidery and more! The stitching fun never ends. Join us each Sunday by visiting the hand stitching blog posts and/or linking up one of your own!
