Design Wall Monday

There is a growing quilt on my design wall - Tennessee mystery by Edyta Sitar. I have completed step #5 and am now sewing 24 sawtooth star blocks for step #6. It is slow going!

I'm not loving the darkness of the zigzag border, but there are 3 more borders after the stars, so I will just keep going and see how it all works out.

I wish it was growing faster since I want to be ready to start the Quiltville mystery starting soon!

Have you started the Tennesse mystery quilt?

Are you planning to start the Lupine and Laughter mystery on November 21?

  1. That’s the hard thing about mysteries……it could end up a great quilt that you love even if there’s parts you didn’t like while it’s in progress. Fingers crossed!

  2. Looks like a fun quilt along! Pretty colours in your quilt. I agree about the darkness of the border but it may look just fine once the other borders are added. I know how you love doing Bonnie’s mystery every year. Sew on! Gail

  3. Good idea to wait and see on the darker border--this is coming together very well...
I don't do mystery SALs myself--but love watching them come together for others;))))

  4. I like your mystery quilt, you selected nice colors. I am going to give the mystery another chance, I like the pattern, I just didn't like the fabrics I used. It is easier to do the mystery once it's completed. Happy stitching!

  5. I like the center of this quilt, very interesting. No, I am not doing L&L, BH's patterns are too busy for my taste.

  6. What fun! The sawtooth stars should be easy to finish this week.

  7. P.S. I'm on the fence about Lupine and Laughter. Love the colors. I'll probably give in.

  8. I like the colors you've chosen. Very pretty! That dark does stand out, but I'm guessing the next steps will pick up more of that.

  9. I do enjoy Bonnie's mysteries although I have other tops to finish. I usually change the colours, to give it my own spin. Last year I switched up the layout of the blocks too and finished it as a toddler quilt. I'm doing the meadow mist designs mystery as well, which is a monthly clue so a more relaxed pace.

  10. I stopped doing Bonnie's mystery a few years ago. I have at least 2 of hers unfinished (and likely to stay that way).

  11. That's really pretty, Kathy! Love the blues and greens together. I hope you're happier with the darker border after the next ones are there. I think it will all work out!
