Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!

Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee or pumpkin spice latte to enjoy while visiting the blog links of stitchers around the world. It's so inspiring to see what other people are creating with their own two hands.

This is what I stitched this week with my little hands - a moth! This is one step in the Spooky Night mystery SAL by Tiny Modernist. I was way overly optimistic in thinking I could finish this pattern by Halloween! I have stitched 5 of the 14 sections, so maybe my revised goal could be to finish half of the project by the end of the month?

It would be easier to meet my stitching goals if I didn't get so distracted doing other interesting things! Yesterday I took a card making class with my daughter and we made 5 different types of cards. (Please excuse the poor quality selfie, but that is not my fortรฉ!)
The classes were hosted and beautifully organized by the Papercrafter's Workshop and we had a blast! It was so much fun to work in a medium that is new to me.

Creative energy is so amazing and interesting.  I had so many crazy ideas about combining paper crafting and stitching. My creative mind went off madly in all directions! My mind and my craft desk are in a whirlwind and who knows what could happen next!?! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I did have some semblance of order at times this week and was able to finish my Mini Sunflower Sampler into a miniature wallhanging (pattern by the most generous Melisa at Pinker 'n Punkin). The top one is the Mini Squirrel Sampler, the middle one is the newly completed Mini Sunflower Sampler, and the bottom one is the Mini Apple Sampler. Melisa has so many little treats that I want to stitch - I think the next one to start will be the Little Hoot Stamp.

What are you hand stitching today? Are you buzzing with creativity and in your "work uniform" (aka pajamas) today? Link up your blog post below and share your projects with us!

  1. I think us stitchers are always a little optimistic with what we think we will finish by a certain time. The card making class looked fun. Kathy, something has gone wrong with the link up this week. It's saying the link party has ended.

  4. That is a really neat moth that you stitched for the SAL, Kathy! The card making class sounds like it was a lot of fun, too. I love your mini samplers - I'm just finishing up the apple one myself! Have a wonderful Sunday!

  5. I always think I can craft faster than I do. This is why I ended up with stash! "Oh, that's cute and I'm almost done with my current project." turns into "I have almost 100 kitted patterns and am at SABLE".

  6. I hear you! I'm so optimistic about my To Do List as well! Good for you adjusting to what you believe is possible! I love that butterfly! Your selfie is fine. I'm so glad you attending the class with your daughter! Daddy used to say, "Make memories, it's later than you think." He was right. What a beautiful day for the two of you!

  7. I like your moth. It is so pretty. The cardmaking class sounds like fun. How wonderful that you got to do it with your daughter. I can't work in my pajamas. I have to get the day going by getting dressed. I can relate to the messy craft area though.

  8. You can NOT say she is not your daughter. Gosh you two look alike. She is so gorgeous. Is she a model? Those eyes! That skin! Just perfect. There's a girl in my group who does embroidery cards. She pierces the card at a few places and then she starts embroidering it. It's so beautiful. You two did a great job in your new venture. Enjoy! ;^)

  10. Hi Kathy, beware the paper intersection with fabric and yarn! I discovered book making a couple of years ago - totally addictive and now I'm playing with handweaving on paper. It's quite the rabbit hole - welcome :-)
