Scrappy Saturday

My blue scraps haven't had much attention this month, but I did make a couple of blocks this week. I cut out pieces for an ongoing RSC project that I started last year. I really like the blocks for using up scraps, but truth be told... I can't find the original blocks I made last year!

They will show up eventually, but for now here are the new blue blocks - a star block and and the alternating 25 patch block.

These blocks were made from scraps on the cutting table. Does your cutting table look like this?

Honestly mine always does. I tell myself it's the sign of a creative quilter! But really it's the sign that I haven't kept ahead of organizing my scraps. So today's the day to clear some space and cut some scraps, so I'll have more space to cut! LOL

  2. My table does always look like that--do you pre-cut your scraps into sizes? I haven't as yet--but may do a few to see if I like having them sorted by sizes...hugs, Julierose

  3. Have fun corralling those scraps. It always feels good to start with a fresh clean space periodically -- even if it doesn't stay that way for long.

  5. I have a small bushel basket for those scraps to keep them tidy and off my table. When it gets full then i go at them and cut them up. Love your blocks...guess you figured out the pattern. Hope you find your other blocks!

  9. Which Cutting table do I clear first? I just get another Mat and find a table or TV Tray. LOL Fun Blue blocks. hope you find the others. Played with Borders on my Bluebird Quilt today. Red then Blue Borders almost on. Two sides left on the Blue Borders. Time to Measure and find the backing. This one is being entered for the Theme Category of our Quilt Show in Tri-Cities Washington this March.

  10. So glad I am not the only one with a cutting table covered in bits of fabrics! Love the blue blocks. I'm sure those other ones will turn up when they are done partying!

  12. Pretty soothing blue blocks.
My cutting table gets buried, but not just in fabrics. Books, patterns, files, and anything else I might have in my hands when I need to pick up something else, it all ends up on the cutting table.

  13. Really like the Star block!,The alternating 25 patch block is interesting! I don’t think I have every seen it before! Will you use them in the same quilt or will they be separate quilts?

  16. Those are two very nice blocks. I really like the fabrics in your star. My space is so small right now that I have to keep it clean. Doesn't mean that I don't have the guest room bed covered in fabrics though :)
